India questions China’s claim of being a developing nation in the latest round of its trade policy review at the World Trade Organisation

.
I remember Trump has made similar accusation back then, and if others like Hong Kong and Singapore can continue with developing-country designation (only South Korea cave in to pressure and gave up), I don't see why China cannot?

They need to create a new classification in WTO for India : "sh!t power delusionally developed nation""

I think we need to acknowledge Indian cultural psychology and endorse all the titles they seek. That's something you cannot subdue. The more you push, the more stubborn it gets. You shut down 'shining Mumbai' they claim 'game changing technology.' It is just the way it is.

It probably allows one to mind one's own business more liberally.

A more interventionist country like India (albeit unsuccessfully), may yearn for such title and its understandable.

Oh hell no. Your fantasy again playing up. We have aspirations to develop and are working towards it, but when it comes to WTO, we'd like to remain categorized as developing for as much a long time for the same benefits.

Not a single Indian mocks China for being poor.
I won’t say that was a blatant lie but if you were pinnochio your nose would do circumnavigate the earth and poke you back in the butt.

You have claims, not aspirations. Aspiration requires a certain level of work.

India is a superpower since 2020.

Countries like South Korea and China are developing economies.

Haha, in today's geo-political terms controlled by western media, some "developing" countries like South Korea and China are far more advanced in almost every aspects than most of so-called "developed" or "superpower" countries.

I think these countries are concerned that prematurely assuming developed status will create complacency.

Of course, a certain country does not fear such risk. Claiming titles, on the contrary, boosts ego.

Correct. As for myself, I'd like Vietnam to keep the title "developing" and a low-profile for as long as possible.

However, some countries are not so humble (generally third world countries). If they are given some flattering titles, albeit not deserve to be, they may act stupidly beyond their real capability, leading to the destruction of the whole country. Libya was just an example, with Gaddafi acting like his country was a great power. Still remember when he mediated between Fillipino government and the rebels.
