What's new

India & Pak would have stayed united but for Nehru: Dalai Lama

Millions died in WWII for what actually? The fact that Jinnah wanted to be the first PM of India proves that Pakistan was just a plan B for him to seat in the PMs seat.
Go learn history. All Jinnah cared for was that the Muslims of the subcontinent be able to freely practice their religion...and not be subject to the whims and wishes of the Hindu majority(lynchings over beef are just the latest examples of this). U say that his ego was involved and he was hungry for the seat of PM?
Just a year prior to independence, in 1946, he agreed to a plan where Pakistan wouldn't be created instead greater autonomy would be given to those regions(now comprising Pak/Bangladesh) and they would remain part of India. So where was his ego then while he was willing to compromise?

As for his hunger over PM's seat...the first prime minister of Pak was Liaquat Ali Khan appointed by Jinnah himself. He could've taken that position himself and nobody would oppose him...but he didn't.

. .
India itself would not be the country it is but for British.

.
Now you are going to even leave out Vajpayee?
Wow.

No, he can't be left out...
UPA 1 reaped the benefits of his work...

Modi G is no where near to Shastri G or Vajpayee G...

On Nehru G, I feel that some of his decisions were GREAT blunders and India is still paying the price for that...

Gandhi G, a great advocate and practitioner of peace... cannot deny his "contribution" in freedom of India... but he forced the Nehru family on India... Nehru did not got a single vote to be the PM but...

Actually, he did - from the Congress Working Committee.

There are currently 4 MPs from the Nehru family in the Lok Sabha. 2 of them are in the BJP.

Nehru was an idealist but India needed an idealist who would happily even promote the opposition so that democracy can take root in India. Yes, he made a few blunder. China. Goa.

Nehru created India. His refusal to compromise with Muslims led to Pakistan.

Gandhi worked to give positive PR to India. He tried to divide Muslims to prevent Pakistan, but failed.

Quaid e Azam created Pakistan, mostly to protect the rights of its Muslims.

Vallabhai Patel created all the internal divisions and set the stage for violence in India.

Tara Singh along with Congress was responsible for both the partition of Punjab and sparking the genocide and chaos following it.

Modi has set India on the path of destruction and intensified India’s division and fragmentation.

Some Hindu rulers had Muslim employees and Muslim rulers had Hindu employees. The violence was not entirely on religious terms.

The hate is not as completely enveloping as this forum would majorly like us to imagine.

Please watch this vid and this.

And read this.

The divisions can be undone.

Otherwise, when other people in the world are talking about settling on Mars, here we are in the Subcontinent continuing old hates.

Should we fight this silly fight for the next 70 years instead of bringing progressive change to our individual societies??

Right, but whenever Hindu rulers had Muslims working for them, the latter was never seriously committed Muslim, and vice versa.

It was, and still is. However, it has somewhat improved.

I don't know, you need to ask yourselves that question.

Jinnah's views on Nehru: He is like Peter Pan!!! He won't learn anything new, or un-learn what he has already learnt!!!!

Three blunders of Nehru let to the creation of Pakistan - Maulana Abul Kalam Azad (India Wins Her Freedom)
