so according to many of the replies by pakistani,s here.....for pakistan the lives of afgans are expendable.....they will support the taliban to retake afganistan and subject it to poverty and drugs so that they can have a hold on the country and be happy about it......this is why you will not find support in ther afgan population.

the above is not a morally sound stratergy.....i do believe afgans are people who have the right to determine what they want and am sure they do not want the taliban...they want to rule their own nation and bring about its development.
this is why the Indian strategy will work.coz its something that is taking them closer to their goals....
i agree india has its intentions too . it wants a hold too so it can trade with central asia....besides being relived of 'one' of its terrorist headaches.but look how its triying to acheive that goal....it develops afganistan...the afganistan people are happy and they love India

Relax people. The article says they "may" talk to Taliban and/(or?) ISI. Now before this "May" the ruling government will have to suffer the wrath of Opposition who would scalp them for even conceptualizing this. If the Center goes ahead with this, the armed forces and strategists will oppose.

The whole point of getting Russia, Tajikistan and Iran was to make sure that Taliban never comes back to Afghanistan ever again. You think after spending so much money, GOI will waste time over talking to these loonies?

I feel that this is merely a distraction for something that is going on and we don't know.

I really wish out Afghan brethen can be spared from this mess of political footbal going in their country for past 30 years. They should pledge alligence to USA in exchange of keeping everyone including Pakistan, India, Russia and Tajikistan out so they can develop and prosper themselves. It has crossed the limits of sickening and everyone wants an end to Afghan showdown!
