Nations work on a long term strategy in pursuit of their national interests. For China, it meant needling India, funding/supporting entities that harm Indian interests. And that wouldn't change if there was no Doklam or even if India withdrew diplomatic representation from Mongolia.

In the last one year when even India and china where involved,things have not been China's way.
First at NSG,China opposed India but found India managed to get most of the members support ,you may not see much in it,but that did not go well with China,they removed the Chinese chief negotiator at NSG because of that.
Second India entered MTCR while China has been trying for years.
Third in Srilanka they had plans to use the port for it's Navy,which Srilanka govt renegotiated the deal and said no and can be used for only commercial purposes.
Forth India stopped China from constructing the road in disputed territory with Bhutan ,now China has to swallow it's ego after threatening for over 40 days now,you may say it's their land but China has not been able to find any support internationally on the contrary India has found support.

1. The reality is India got rejected by China due to which India wasn't able to become member of NSG.

2. MTCR is a control regime among 35 countries to prevent sharing of technology and it doesn't give India any edge against China. China if wants can become member of it but they don't want to. It is used to prevent sharing of technology of UAV & missiles which can carry payload of above 500 kg. One question to you, Did India developed any such technology which they need to hide the technology of?

well, Indian offered for diplomatic negation, so we are giving you time to at least to see if the negotiation is going to fall apart or succeed, like I said, war is the last option for China, but if all other options are gone, then war would be the only way, and at this time, Chinese threat has worked and Indians are asking for talk and diplomatic solution, so we'll give it a try.
