India-Japan ties enter strategic sphere

If Germany and Japan are slaves, then India and most of the world are below slaves. Germany and Japan are two of the most advance countries in the world and most from India would have a better life in any of these countries. Lets be honest, any of you Indians would rather live in those two countries and enjoy that standard of living. So all your statements about these countries as slaves doesn't make sense. Otherwise, any country besides the US are either slaves or below slaves and India would be in the below slaves category base on your way of categorize countries. I would have to disagree on your assessment that India is definitely not below that of slaves.

As for foreign policy of England, Germany and Japan. They are definitely independent. For example, England supported the Iraqi invasion. Germany was totally opposed and Japan was wishy washy. If their foreign policy is dependent on the US, they would have the same view of supporting the US. As for the British PM statement, do you have a link?

Countries that falls in "the umbrella" of the US are independent only to some extend and especially when it comes to the defense and military field, it will be very difficult to resist the pressure of US defense companies. For example, Canada and Israel developed fighters on their own before and they were even pretty good, the Israeli Lavi shows what kind of potential they had in these fields too. But these developments suddenly were scrapped (often reported because of US pressure) and both countries remaind dependent on US fighters mainly. You can see the same in Japan too, where they wanted to develop an own stealth fighter, but now they are evaluating F35, F15 SE..., not sure if they will finish their stealth fighter project, but if not they will remain dependent too.

That's US policy, they provide security to smaller countries and in return they want them to follow their route. But India is neither a small country, nor is it looking for such kind of dependance. India is an independent and non aligned country and must remain like that in future too!

Btw, India is not spending all it's money for defense:
