In all fairness.... jingoism aside..... Pakistan(PAF) does need a top of the line ......4.5++ generation Ace fighter...... before the entry of 5th generation in sub-content arena.....
Now one can argue that in the presence of other assets like AWACS, SAMS etc PAF can hold itself pretty well..... true may be.... but when you look at the enemy size and technology .... the gap seems too wide.... therefore relying on this assumption is too outstretched and too much to ask for.....

Rafale's entry further widens the gap and makes it a total unfair contest...... you got to give your boys something respectable to fight with.......Current apparatus simply wouldn't do!
An Ace Fighter .... with a couple of squadrons....... That can strike fear deep in the heart of enemy is pretty much needed...... A fighter that can lead the pack..... Its about time we realize that in Indo-Pak war theater ......things have moved a long way.....Thunders and Vipers .... though good on their own merits.... can act as force multipliers.... and keep the enemy at bay!

A fifth gen fighter(most probably j 31) can come in its own sweet time.....

Ab paisay nahi hain .... ya mama ji ki tillon main tail nahi ......asy justifications say kam nahi chalega..... Same is the case with Navy and its acquisitions......

For the sake of our sovereignty ...... We need to revisit our priorities ..... and set them right!

J-31 with ramjet A2A missiles is Pak only hope. F-16blk 52 or even blk 61 is simply outclassed by Rafale with MICA and Meteor missiles.

No they are not---. Each SU30 carries the load of BVR missiles equal to 5-6 PAF aircraft---.

So---the force multiplier of the SU30 at BVR range is 5 to 6 times each Paf aircraft.

I have discussed it with PAF guys and they say MKIs will be visible from long distance so we will have time how to give appropriate response, remember that over Pakistani skies PAF fighter jets will not fight alone, they will be supported by other sensors and SAMs, now all three forces can share data and use each others assets too that is called NCW capability.

They have MKIs, M2Ks Mig-29s, Mig-23s with BVR n off bore WVR missile since 90s while PAF was at its worst, with out BVRs and off bore WVR missiles but did India dared to attack??

No doubt PAF is at disadvantage on both fronts qualitative and quantitative. Rafael would be like a new F-16 against Mig-23 or Mirage 3/5. As in eighties we had the edge even with fewer F-16s. We need a equivalent fighter like typhoon, f-16 v etc to counter the balance. Even if the J-10 with Aesa and new tech sensors is brought in it could still fill balance
