out of the sangh, what you call "fringe elements", just one of their groups, rss, has five to six million members, in 51,355 branches and its political wing, bjp, has a membership of 110 million.

i am not a congressi but i don't know cases where under congress national governments a hindu-born journalist was threatened with lynching or rape just because he or she was born a hindu... so i don't understand your analogy of bringing "appeasement of christians and muslims" to my point of the ( hindu-born ) female journalist being almost lynched by male and female rabid nationalist sanghis in delhi.
