India is a Hindu nation: RSS chief

No you are NOT a communist, u have no clue what is communism, just attacking hinduism makes u an anti hindu, not a communist. yes u like chinese, that makes a chinese lover, not a communist. Look what u wrote earlier -

:) you really need to stop pretending, its pretty cool in your nation to hate hindus and love chinese, so don't be a closet islamist :) otherwise post something criticising islam just to disprove it :) a REAL communist would :)

and abt the Varun issue, no the BJP has not supported his statement, stop twisting things.

and i don't wish to be ur standard, trust me.

I have never found anything worthy of condemnation in Islam. Ok I promise, if ever I find anything, I will criticize Islam for the sake of your happiness. But if I do not see anything, then forgive me, I cannot wrongly criticize a good ideology just for the sake of criticism.

You should stop twisting things. Because according to your media:

Varun still candidate of party: BJP - India - The Times of India

BJP Yuva Morcha to observe Black Day in UP for Varun

Varun Gandhi will remain BJP candidate from Pilibhit: Balbir Punj - India - The Times of India
Varun Gandhi will remain BJP candidate from Pilibhit: Balbir Punj

BJP leader defends Varun - Bhubaneswar - Cities - The Times of India

And you do not need to remind me who is of my standard and who is not. I know it better than you.

Yes, i know, that makes you a good muslim. good for u :) there's nothing wrong in being a good muslim, infinitely better than being a fake communist. its ok. u r alright.

and BJP has not supported Varun's statements :)

Fundamental rights cannot be changed. Get some education. India is not anyone's parental private property.

Yes one can change one's family constitution through a private drawing room meeting with the help of the majority.

One thing, India's majority is the OBCs, and Brahmins constitute only 4% something. Muslims, Dalits, Sikhs, Christians, Adivasis are also there. So no chance. Try in some other country.

US constitution takes the view that certain rights are inalienable. Indian constitution, influenced by Europe, is different. It almost (not absolutely) takes the perspective that the rights are given to you by the state and constitution. It is the difference between negative and positive view of rights. Negative and positive rights - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This means that there are no fundamental rights that cannot be changed, since nothing is specified inalienable. India recently did that when it modified the constitution to enforce reservations for OBC/SC/ST in private educational institutions. It had to modify the statement of right to equality to achieve this. Another example is the "socialist" part in the constitution of India - The word no longer means what Nehru would have meant it to be (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fundamental_Rights_of_India).

Again, Communist, please stop writing stuff like "get an education" or "get out of the country". It makes you sound haughty and most responses you will get will be angry ones. And then the thread deteriorates into a flame war. Oh and stop pretending you are an Indian, at least. We all have been reading your posts for a while now and know that you are a Pakistani.

Marx would have said that the fact that Islam is a religion is in itself worth condemnation. Religion is the Opiate of masses my friend, not fit for consumption by the intelligentsia.

As he said, The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is the demand for their real happiness.

Gabbar, last day Lalu Prasad was arrested for attacking on Varun, and people are now saying that Lalu did that for Muslim vote bank. I simply do not understand what these hypocrite false Indians want. Whatever may be the reason, but at least Lalu condemned the dangerous hate speech of Varun. How many Indian politicians have ever done that?

Self criticism does not stand for anti-Indianness.

Self criticism?

Well, Lalu Prasad said all this IN AN ELECTION CAMPAIGN. And, there are some rules set by Election Commission of India) to be followed by ALL the leaders. (a.k.a. "Achar-Samhita).

Lalu Prasad could have protested in other words. But, he used the language "I would have run road-roller over Varun Gandhi".

Right or wrong, nobody is above the law. The court is doing its job and Lalu Prasad is not the authority to decide.

Well said RSS cheif...

I fully agree with u ....

and for ignorant Indian members of this forum ...I have attended lot many Shakha of RSS....

There were even muslim friends of mine who used to come to shakha ....

the RSS definition of hindu differs from religion hindu....

We all belong to hindustani culture but our religions might be different.....

and glad to tell u we are not narrow minded people as portryed in media.....

If madarasa can run in India where they teach islamic teaching along with education.....

If there are so many christen missionary run schools

why do u protest against hindu organisations.....just cause they have different ideology than yours....

India has power to assimilate all kind of people then why u protest only against hindus....

In india hindus are treated as minority.....if someone speaks for hindu he is put in jail....

why dont u put muslim extremist in jail....

Congress is shameless BJP can only save India from being Talibanised....

I think your previous post
"RSS caiming that India is a Hindu nation measn it's not secualr and it is Hindu federation."

The bold part sounded like your opinion. Even now I am not sure. I think you wanted to say that is what RSS chief's words mean?
But many people here thought it was an admission of what India is...

Got it now??

Thanks Professor!!!
I think you have benjamin button disease. Where you keep getting younger as you get old. (Avatar)

I was merely trying to say what RSS chief might of meant. It wasn't my opnion. Bezerk may have jumped the gun there.

As a communist I do not want to see India as a Hindu nation at any cost.

Ruby's comment seemed to me hazy and unclear.

I dont want see India as a religious state at all, weather it's Hindu. Sikh or Muslim. Leave it secular where no body is forcing thier religious values to force or make laws.

The RSS ideological book says that all Indians are Hindus irrespective of their religion, so it is more of a "forced inclusion" rather than a "forced exclusion" which is usually the case with fundamentalist outfits.

These people are not concerned about religious puritanism, they are concerned about allegiance and identity.

Why they need to be concerned at all about other religions? Its not thier duty or right to be concerned about allegiance and identies. They dont have God given right.

BJP has not supported Varun's statements

BJP leader lends support to Varun Gandhi

BAREILLY/NEW DELHI - Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kalraj Mishra here today said that he would be heading to Pilibhit to give party’s support to Varun Gandhi.

“Varun Gandhi is a candidate of the BJP. And party would try its best to make him win at every stage. We would be standing with him at every stage. We will try our best that we don’t violate the election code of conduct, ” said Mishra, who is the election-in-charge of Uttar Pradesh BJP and former party president.

BJP had earlier said that it would retain Varun as a candidate in the coming general election, defying an Election Commission advice.

Meanwhile, Union Minister for Science and Technology Kapil Sibal in New Delhi blamed BJP’s prime ministerial candidate L K Advani for being behind the entire episode and termed Varun’s surrender as party’s drama.

“This is again a drama being enacted by Varun. I am sure that the silent Advani is completely in tune with what is happening because without his consent this would not happen. He could have had easily stopped it. He wants this drama to continue. But I am sorry to say that this would impact his own image as a leader of the country because I don’t think the Hindus of this country like this kind of politics being played,” said Sibal.

Earlier in the day, Varun, who moved a surrender plea in Pilibhit’s local court, has been sent to two-day judicial custody.

The application, which was moved by his lawyers before Chief Judicial Magistrate Vipin Kumar, will be taken up on Monday.

Speaking with journalists outside the Pilibhit court, Varun said: “I am ready to go to jail. I am victim of political conspiracy.”

On Friday, Varun withdrew his anticipatory bail application from the Delhi High Court. The court had granted him anticipatory bail on March 20.

Varun took the decision to withdraw the bail application after the Allahabad High Court on Wednesday rejected his petition seeking quashing of two FIRs registered against him for his speeches in Pilibhit on March 7 and 8.

He was accused of making inflammatory communal remarks at election meetings in his constituency on March 6.

The Election Commission issued a notice to Varun, charging him of violating the Model Code of Conduct for elections by making communal remarks.

Following the Election Commission notice, the Pilibhit police filed an FIR under Sections 153 A (promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion) and 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 125 of the Representation of the People Act. Gabbar I'm not commenting on whether or not it is their right - I simply clarified the statement because some may interpret it as an exclusive statement - when its actually an inclusive one.

Regarding some comments of fascism - yes similarities can be drawn between the RSS and fascist organizations - however is it the similarities that matter? I don't want to get into detail right now but I'll come back to it later.

If something walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it's defenetly a duck.

Now's that's my take on it, I dont know what is yours. We will discuss this more once you come with more details.

If they want to feel proud of that, start by getting a better uniform for their Hindutva brigade.

And their political wing, the BJP, is expected to win next month. India may claim to be a secular country and call Pakistan an Islamic one, but you'll never see Maulana Fazlur Rehman win the election in Pakistan, but in India these people do!

No offence Asim, but that is because Pakistan's so called secular parties have already implemented the religious agenda by setting up parallel sharia courts, ensuring that court ruling are "complaint" with Islamic law, banning alcohol, anti-blasphemy laws, supporting the Irhabi militants in Kashmir etc. etc.

Not to mention refusing to differentiate themselves ideologically from the Islamist parties in the eyes of the public.

However, another point is that the hardline islamists do not need to contest elections to come to power. They can do so by sheer force of the gun, as seen in Swat.

If something walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it's defenetly a duck.

RSS is a strange animal. It walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, so you would think it is a duck. But then when you least expect it, it goes and kills your neighbours goat and then you start wondering if this is a duck after all.

I have met tons of RSS people and seen them in Shakhas etc.( I am not a member nor have ever had affiliation with the group, so I don't have insider info.) But nevertheless all the members I have met have been perfectly nice guys with a well balanced outlook on life. I did not consider them an anti-Muslim organization, more like pro-modern-Hinduism organization (With a quasi-religious meaning to the term Hindu) They also help in natural disasters and do public service etc. This is the duck part.

On the other hand every so often they end up taking sides in riots or picking fights and gets banned by govt. every 20 years or so. In one riot or a fight, they undo all the good they did for years.

Well there's a line between "Cultural Nationalism" and "Fascism" which should be trod lightly.

Varun Gandhi case is troubling. He is simply blowing hot-air. He has no background as a grassroots leader, but simply tried to provoke his constituency for voting for him. This is truly dangerous, and I hope that he fails in his attempt.

Regarding his treatment from the BJP - he was condemned and then defended, sometimes from the same guy and sometimes from different people.
How much that had to do with his own clout within the party and how much was ideologically driven is hard to say, but its worrying that the party's newest leader is making his debut in such a manner.
