What's new

India has NEVER been a unified entity.

The name China is derived from the Qin (Chin) Dynasty, which existed in 221 BC.

Which, needless to say, was over 2000 years ago.

The Indus on the other hand, is a River in Pakistan. Yet Indians, Red Indians, and West Indians were named after this river, even though it is not their River, but Pakistan's river. They were named so by the colonialists, since at that time the Indus existed within their Empire.

This new found identity and unity was not a domestic phenomenom, but a foreign one.
India is an English word, not a native word just like China is not called China in Chinese. The native word Bharat is mentioned in Rig Veda composed between 1700-1100 BC but is older as the Rig Veda knows of Bharata as an "ancestor" of contemporary dynasties, tribes and clans. Rig Veda was compiled by Indo-Aryans who migrated to India and who are the ancestors of most North Indians/Pakistanis/Bangladeshis. Even much before that, Dravidians (the South Indian people) were living in India. The coming of Indo-Aryans only added more to already existing Indian civilization.

The Maurayan empire was not India, it was a one-off Empire that lasted only a hundred years. For the other thousands of years the subcontinent was ruled by many individual kingdoms.

The Maurayan empire did not succeed any state, and no state succeeded it. It existed on it's own as a short-lived empire, that had nothing to do with any country called India.

Nothing like the "Divine right of Kings" that existed in Europe, which passed authority from one ruler of a state to the next. Or the Mandate of Heaven in China, which was based on a similar principle, though far older.

.
LOL what is "Ghong guo", that is not even a word.

The state of Qin/Chin existed in 778 BC.

Whereas the English language emerged more than 2000 years later, in 1550 AD.

How can Qin/Chin be named after a language that only came about two thousand years later? Do you have no sense of logic?
you need to learn your own history. Zhongguo is the mandarian of present day China means 'middle states'. Also read from where 'China' has been derived and who used it first and he wasn't a chinese and definitely not some Qin guy.

Mauryan Empire was an Indian kingdom. It had everything to do with India as it was part of Indian civilization, established in India by an Indian. India had its own concept of Rajdharma. Why would it have European or Chinese concepts in it? Come on dude, make some sense!

So what is "Ghong guo"? It is ZHONG not Ghong.

And the word China was derived from Qin/Chin.

Obviously, since the word China by itself is meaningless in English.

Nobody in the world says that China was not a country before the modern era.

Only the Indians here say it as a defensive reaction, because they are extremely defensive about something that they readily acknowledge amongst themselves, that there was no India before the age of colonialism.

The only reason Indians are even arguing against it, is because it was posted by a Pakistani moderator and discussed by a Chinese member.

Amongst themselves and in their own sites, Indians readily acknowledge this basic fact.

Indian myths and folklore needs to be put to rest with hard historic evidence.

Dont know what your frustration with India is. If Europe despite all its wars and differences can form EU, which is pretty much a country these days, so can India. At the end of the day its for Indians to decide if they have things in common with other Indians to live as a nation, not random Pakistani and Chinese trolls in some internet forum.

BTW we have always claimed we are untied via culture and language (Sanskrit derived), not because of the empire of some random king who happened to have a lot of peasants under him.

I can see at least 10 such people to counter that statement in this very thread :P

I don't think they know what you mean. Do they think kung hei fat choy are Chinese words?

Well, kung hei fat choy is the Cantonese Romanization of 恭喜發財, which would be pronounced as gong xi fa cai in Mandarin.

I think Indians here are a bit over reacting !! India has never been a country in history , India is a country since 1947 A.D only , so is Pakistan .
The point of this post is , "there is no historic ground for the call of recreation of AKHAND BHARAT by the likes of RSS and BJP "

Yeah in 200 BC there was a global British Empire, you're right.

And Qin/Chin is not a Chinese word, you're right again.

/sarcasm

The Qin/Chin first emerged in 778 BC, people weren't even speaking English back then. Not that logic is any concern in this topic.

Indians as usual are always butt hurt and jealous. India is name given by the British, India is an artificial colony made by the British and given to these people, everything, they have is given to them by the British from head to toe. There is nothing that these people achieved in last 1000, except for getting stomped by one Muslim empire or another from the western region, originating from our land (Pakistan).

Your post clearly shows who actually is butt hurt and jealous. Inferiority complex much?

I can't see any country existed back then either...what kind of thread is this???
The difference is that China as a nation has existed for thousands of years. The borders have not always been the same of course, but the nation existed.

Whereas the concept of India is a relatively new one, named after the Indus River which existed in British India, not in modern India. Today, the Indus River flows almost entirely through Pakistan.

Yet the British Empire named many different people across the planet with the name Indus, not only Indians, but Red Indians, West Indians etc. that also existed within the British Empire.

I'm seeing Tibetans,Northern Dynasty and Southern Dynasty right here..where is China????
