Being a 'global leader' is not all about helping people in a humanitarian crisis. That is why US has only given 10 million to Nepal, because it has real 'global' issues to deal with.

The USA is just happy that little slave India is doing all the major work, so America can sit back and do nothing. To keep India as a willing slave, the USA is sweet-talking India by saying India is a 'global leader' etc.

These words are like honey to India, who is so desperate and hungry for its Western masters (USA, UK) to think India is powerful and important.

But in reality, behind India's back, the USA and UK still see India as a poor peasant country full of backward poor people.

When Kashmir earthquakes happened in Pakistan, their ambassador was noted to claim that they do not expect India to help because that is how India is. When India actually offered money they would not accept it and it had to be routed through UN funds. They left the food and relief supplies given by India to rot on the ground unpicked. This same attitude was noted during the floods in Pakistan. Pakistan is rather famous for cutting off its own nose to spite India. Regardless India will always reach out to countries in its neighborhood and help them in their time of need.

We do not really need to buy influence. There are millions of Nepalis working in India and millions of Indians in Nepal. We have a roti, beti, aur Shivji type of relation with Nepal. India was the first mover in reaching out to Nepal because that is how Modi works. He is hands-on guy for disaster relief operations in India and out of it too. China followed our lead.

It should not trouble you either way, becuase you are right here, and we have always been able to do both as far as you were concerned.

This capability, being recognized and appreciated by the world, is new. It takes expertise, political will, trained manpower, machinery, and above all, hard cash.

The point remains. If we can react quickly enough and reach far enough to save a life, we are also now at a place where we can do the same, were the situation to need such, to take a life.
