India gave Musharraf ‘police reporting’ visa

.
Since last evening?? any specific reason.... sorry i am unaware about his latest upadtes.

On this forum itself I have professed that I admire the guy as a likeable rogue - at least he is a fauji who enjoys a good whisky.

At that time someone (Indian) had cautioned me that regardless of their jolly exterior, yeh saare khaki waale ek hi hote hain.

Kal shaam ko ussne ek interview diya CNN IBN par.

You are weak hearted man :) Musharraf is blunt and thats what make him different

I am a big hearted man.

It finds no place for Musharraf anymore.

His bluntness was never a problem for me.

I like blunt. I do blunt.

I do not like cowards.

I do not do dishonest.

.
It has NOT belittle him at all. Its a normal procedure. The only thing i see is that it is food for your bruised ego

And i never said it has belittle him.

Normal procedure? Yes, but for normal citizens of both nation, Not for the ex-Head of the state's

If Ex-PM of India would have to report in any local police station is pakistan, then i will consider it as a National Shame.

Don't know about pakistani standards though.

-------------------

But as i said before, He deserve this. :)

We are NOT retards like Indians who find escape in using such tactics for finding solace :)

Election time hai yaar, he is making his moves. All this is political talking.
Few days back he asked india-pakistan to bury past hatred, after that he said he can join IK if country needs it and now this drama.

Politics is drama jahaa budhe bandar ko bhi gulaatiyaa maarni padti hai.

He is just playing safe inorder to avoid any new controversy.

Or may be standard of self-respect and National Pride is different among the people from grass root level up-to the politicians in Both Nations ? which we have already witnessed in case of some civilians and now ex- head of the states too.

By the way, Retards are those who even after getting repeatedly humiliated and slapped, still don't understand whats going on.

Musharraf lashes out at Indian embassy in UAE for visa bungle

Former Pakistan President issued visa with a ‘report to police’ clause on India visit; says he does not know if it was intentional

Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has lashed out at the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi for their blunder in issuing him an Indian visa with ‘report to the police’ stamped on it.

“I do not know whether it was done to humiliate me or it was a slip-up. I leave it to the Indian Ambassador to decide. Even if it were a slip-up, I certainly would expect the Ambassador to take the official who committed such a great error to task,” Musharraf told XPRESS in a telephonic interview from New Delhi.

The visa issued by the Indian Embassy to Musharraf and his wife Sebha required them to ‘report to the police’ soon after landing in New Delhi last Friday.

As per the visa accord between the two countries, those holding diplomatic passports, including former prime ministers, presidents and their spouses are exempt from reporting to the police and their visas carry an ‘exempted from police reporting’ stamp. All other visitors from both sides are required to report to the nearest police station or Foreigners Registration Office within 24 hours of arriving in each other’s country.

“Me and my wife would have had to report to a police station. It was a very disappointing and frustrating experience. I do not know whether it was done to embarrass me intentionally because the other nine members of our team all had visas with the exemption,” said Musharraf who is on a private visit to New Delhi.

However, the former president was quick to praise the warmth and hospitality of Indian immigration officials at Delhi Airport who quickly rectified the issue.

Asked whether the two nuclear neighbours should ease the repressive visa regime, Musharraf said he is in support of such steps. “I totally agree that the regulations must be eased up. But making rules is one thing and implementing them is another. If this is the way some embassy officials implement the rules, then God save the rules,” said Musharraf.

Commenting on the bungle by his office, M.K. Lokesh, Indian ambassador to the UAE, told XPRESS that it was a ‘human error’ and was corrected immediately.

“It was a mistake by one of our consular staff. I was in New Delhi when the former president arrived in the capital. We immediately took steps to solve the issue and remove the clause from his visa,” Lokesh said.

Who is Musharraf?

What is he doing here in the first place?

Dafa ho ....

sahi baat hai.

Yeh Hindustan times waale chu**** kisiko bhi bulate lete hain aur saamne wala banda besharmo ki tarah chala aata hai mu uthake

See what Musharraf said in 2010

Musharraf vows never to visit India again: report

“I have no words to explain my disappointment,” Musharraf was quoted as telling The Indian Express newspaper by telephone from his home in Dubai.

“Your government has dashed my hopes. I think it shows a lack of confidence on the part of India to face me,” he said, according to the paper’s website.

The former president, who was born in New Delhi before the partition of the sub-continent, had been invited to India by private organisations to attend seminars and meet the media.

“I don’t plan to come to India ever again,” Musharraf said, citing the visa refusal as an affront to his “honour and dignity.”

Indian government officials have confirmed the visa request was denied, but declined to elaborate on the reasons.

India press reports earlier this week said the decision stemmed from India’s belief that Musharraf was responsible for a large-scale militant incursion in Kashmir in 1999 that brought India and Pakistan to the brink of war.

Musharraf was army chief of staff at the time of what became known as the Kargil conflict. Several months later he led a bloodless coup that finally saw him proclaimed Pakistan’s president in 2001.

So he went back on his own words to come to India.

. .
What ever be the reason , this is no way to have acted.

If it was an error the staff at the embassy issuing the visa needs a kick. So do Mush's aides for not having checked the visa.

If not an error... well ..

But as i said before, He deserve this. :)

I think he is an absconder from his country. So it would have been more appropriate if we would have arrested him and handed over to pakistan to face trails. or we could have simply denied him visa to make our relations better with pakistan govt.
