India faces a new reality in Afghanistan (good read)

@MilSpec
You keep repeating ISI as if ISI was taking this money from Govt of Pakistan. Saudis funded Mujahideen & Taliban because USA asked them to do so, CIA funded and provided weapons to ISI because USA said so. You skirted question about Haqqanis, i wonder why?
And if you are not sure where taliban were trained you should ask someone who knows. Your attempt to single out Pakistan isn't based on facts. You have a problem with Pakistan funding taliban in Afghanistan however not a problem when its Iran and Russia. I hope you know where butcher of Kabul was staying all these year.

Like i said earlier, its usual business. A liberal country like USA funds Wahabis/salafis in Syria because national interests. Indian support to LTTE isn't something that is secret anymore. Pakistan is no different when it comes to her interests.

Sorry about that;
I partly addressed that; I actually missed that somehow; Again you are correct
Absolutely like Dostum, hekymetyar, haq, sayyaf, naderi, massoud; haqqanis too were a part of the mujhideens that fought against the soviets.
They were also the part Pashtun groups that were favored by Pakistan, Haqqani network like the hekymetyaars was distinctly successful in organizing massive foreign funding during the soviet war, and after fall of Kabul, i.e. when massoud's forces evacuated to panjshir; accepted cabinet position in the Taliban government, becoming an offshoot taliban organisation very much like hekymetyaar.

I absolutely understand your position, but I would urge you to consider our view. Afghanistan with a taliban government was seen as Pakistan buffer for strategic depth by your own state although far fetched, but the reality of such a state surfaced with the IC 814 hijacking where the hijacker and released prisoners diffused into Pakistan; and then it became a training center for every organisation from AQ to LeT. Now we had to deal with non-state -STATE, with zero accountability. Abuse of state power like public flogging, market square hangings and destruction non-muslim property was rampant, and this was Pakistan controlled Taliban that did that. Now if the taliban was controlled and managed by Pakistan, it would be a different issue, but to an outsider it looked like Pakistan had unleashed Taliban and lost control to such levels that when asked to hand over AQ leadership, taliban rather went to war against US. What happens when there is a repeat of the same going forward.

1. The article is Indian-centric and not at all objective enough, heck, what you expect from Indian authors!

2. For instant they use certain terms to malign Pakistan, such as the use of Rawalpindi rather than Islamabad, obvs’ an attempt to show that the elected Government is not leading the affairs of the country but the army is. A typical Indian technique to continue to belittle Pakistan as a non-democratic country, a repetitive stick to use in International circles, in an attempt to portray India as better than her neighbours. Furthermore, the authors continue to the narrative that somehow India can be in the driver’s seat and that it should and could have more influence now and in the future. The article refused to recognise Pakistan's legitimate right for a greater role due to both history and geography. Could India stomach it if Pakistan were to seek more influence in Myanmar?

3. India needs to recognise that this area is under the influence of Pakistan, Iran and other neighbours and not India’s and her nefarious designs via the TTP and other terrorists groups they have nurtured will be going up in smoke very soon.

4. Pakistan should recognise that India is not going to give up easily and will stoke up the fires. There will be many challenges ahead and we need to be united and fit to defeat India this terrible and divisive curse of a country.

The article paints India as an Anti- Taliban entity while Pakistan as a Pro-Taliban Entity. Even if India is driven out of Afghanistan by Taliban-pakistan alliance, I would be quite fine with it, but should we expect Pak assited taliban 2.0 t have the same gusto of the 90's or will you try to evolve them into a bit of diet- talban, like all the burkha's- public beating?

Anyways @waz if the article does state a probable scenario in Afghanistan, on a personal level how does it feel to be accused as a state that is a Taliban facilitator in this day and age?

there was no burqa beatings or did it suddenly stopped in entire Afghanistan as soon as US took control of Kabul, US did allow to continue bachey bazi. A Simple minds stays a simple mind.

Thank you for understanding.
I absolutely abhor taliban taking over Afghanistan. I have zero sympathy for people who use religion and unleash hell onto people who don't share the same belief or have a different interpretation of the same religion.
I sincerely hope that people of Afghanistan are the ones who take decisions about their country and not others. I sincerely wish that everyone fighting a senseless war stops the violence and find a political solution so that the coming generations might have a good future.
Pakistan is far from a perfect state however someday i hope my beloved motherland becomes the perfect place.

Regards.

Good read ofcourse but the point here is that India never had a bad relations with Talibans. India is dealing with Afghanistan as a nation and not as a group of any segment. Whosoever comes to power in Afghanistan, India will have a cordial relations with the ruling regime. Pakistan has helped US against Talibans which they have not forgotten. They simply takes the help of Pakistan because they do not have any other option. Soon as they have power sharing, they will think and act different and they will not simply be militants. They will require money, food and technology which only India can provide. Some people are become happy which is premature. The hidden reality is totally different.

.
Doubt India care like Pakistanis pretend if they were dependent on US to stay there permanently. Otherwise they would have sent some troops to help them out. India will continue to use Afghandus as proxy against Pakistan, doesn't matter if US stay there or not.
