India expressed interest in Patriot air defense system : Raytheon

Thats impossible, we dont operate S 300. It failed in our field trials.

So when the 40 Kms version failed, you are saying we bought the bigger range?

@kurup have a look...

The one failed in the trial is S-300VM .

But as @sandy_3126 explained , the version in service is S-300 PM2 .

I know what you are saying. I was pointing the fact that when VM failed field trails then PMU 2 was a success which has a longer range.

I know Sandy is saying this but the very fact was denied by earlier military professional who were active in PDF. Hence wondered

PMU- II.....six baterries came to india for protection roles when there was severe lack in existing systems, as far as trials for russian equipment, thats a different story...

I know you cant disclose any fact about of its existance, but the stories? Can you?

Deal for apaches , chinook close to signing .

And further more acquisitions on the line .

Close to signing, like the MMRCA?

Lets drop the topic, and let me retract my initial statement, I have heard we have PMU 2, I cant/wont confirm it.

. . . .
Joint development with Russia means we fund the whole project, Russians build it, and then we purchase the final product. So we get banged pretty good.

You are the only Indian in here seeing the real picture of India Russia joint development. Everyone else have their heads in the hole.
