Right, didn't see any flags, thought you were Indian. Heck, if Pakistan can get it's act together and later on also normalize relations with India, you'll be booming too and importing lots of oil. 200 million people is no joke.

No fan of importing oil and then feeling proud about it.

I am all for creating alternative sources of energy and make our country energy sufficient on its own.

Good luck to india for all the economic progess they might make in the next 100 years. Playing with numbers to feel good is not always something that reflects ground reality though.

My issue with india is only the cross-border terrorism it is spreading in the neighborhood. Cut this and no issues.

This is getting really scary. So much dependence on import to sustain our growth will have it's own repercussions.

GOI should holistic approach and develope electrified freight corridors at earnest. Nuclear and renewable sources are the only way to cut back the import.

This shows how big the market is, this also shows that we are capable to import that much oil as demand increases.

How so? I am in the banking industry and am daily exposed to forex markets.... we have overtaken Russia, Canada and Australia.... but still are 9th..... or am I missing something ? We are now a 2.03 trillion economy

I have met many Iranians in my home state (In a town called Pune near to Mumbai where I live). They are actually students of IT/ Medicines, etc.... and have to say this... Iranians are one of the most humble and intelligent people I have ever met.
By the way my home city has some of the most successful businessmen in Asia and most if not all are Parsis (Zoroastrians from erstwhile Persia)
