Pride is one thing. But for the sake of effective communication.
And pride of a language means: our law is in our language, we have translated science in our language, we cry in our language and laugh in our own language.
Our law is in English. We study science in English French and now in Chinese. When we want express our love we use English etc.

So the politician has the guts to be a disgrace on an international forum while India has different set of people for diplomat? He is a parliamentarian and world knows him of an Indian Official.... whether parliamentarian or diplomat but he was there on behalf of the India or not? BJP is ruling party of India and he was there to represent majority of Junta as an elected Parliamentarian. I clearly mentioned "official" & "RSS" which is enough to describe BJP.

Actually it's not about what should we adopt, it's what should be our proud.
But my question is : should language be a thing to be proud of?

The english are very proud of their language, the french are bloody proud of their tongue. chinese are proud of their very historic and colourful language. Arabas are proud of being recognised with their linguistics!
