India catching up China how fast?

-India Goes All In On ‘Boycott China’

-Bilateral trade reached $125.6 billion in 2021, with India's imports from China accounting for $97.5 billion.

Indian doesnt care about China.

Ok, nice doing business with ya. :agree:

According to the recent government data, the Indian economy is estimated to grow at 9.2 pc while IMF says we will grow by 9.5%.

As long as we are growing, we will trade with whoever helps us grow.

That does not mean we are about china. If not china, then there will always be someone else to fuel our growth since most of it is self driven.
Of course, Indians care. Why would they be in a Pakistani site? lol

Because we share history, culture, and language with pakistan, We are separated from china by the Himalayas and culture and language and history.

We are happy with that amount of trade deficit, too. :-)

I remember some years ago I had a multiple pages debate with some Indians who claimed that India was at most only 5 years behind China, and they provided lots of studies, data, charts and research papers to back up this claim.
They will come and debate with you again, still 5 years behind. Facts are not important in Indian's philosophy.

How can anyone take this country seriously when UNICEF needs to teach a country about potty training "Take the poo the loo"? These are the same people who keeps lying about 58% of NASA scientists are Indians or 50% of engineers in Silicon Valley are Indians. These are the same people who kept spamming the internet for a decade about becoming a 2020 Superpower.

Oh, mr not interested is banned?
Now, only surdashan left, lol.

India does not have to catch up with China. It just needs to do a lot better than how it is doing and things will be ok. Growth can be driven by the rich only up to a point. For any substantial growth the spending power of the poor has to increase. With India's federal structure and ethnic complexity, decision making is not easy. And no matter how strong willed the government is, it will have to manage media perception from time to time.

India will likely balkanise soon. Too many minority groups and rampant corruption leads to bad news. North East India already in civil war. Naxals already fighting indian government worshipping Mao zedong. Muslims beginning to rise up and sikhs want their own country too. Soon as central government weakens, India will split up.
India is already balkanized

renegade Indian province already considering itself a separate nation with its own currency, economy and military

When Indians start running their mouths you won't be able to keep up.

They are expert at this game, a somewhat feminine trait with some of them, I'd say.

They are the opposite of strong. silent, manly types. :-)

I know people here find it hard to believe it, but the living room chit chat in middle class India has always been "China is way ahead of India", a sort of grudging respect and not chest thumping that "we are as developed as China". The OP has made some interesting comparisons year to year. I wish we could say that in lieu of faster growth we have performed better on other indicators like social equity, but even that is not true.

On a more pragmatic note, even if India were to double its GDP per capita for every individual, it would dramatically improve the lives of so many. Constantly comparing with countries way ahead of you can be overwhelming and lead to wrong priorities like Bullet trains and over construction in already choked cities. There is no point of these if the security guard in a fancy tech park still earns Rs 12000 a month. We need wage reforms in private sector.

Problem with India as many of us in Bangladesh know (is because of Inbuilt social/religious caste structure) India has not done bottom up growth, only top down growth via back-office jobs etc.

Some Indians even call it a job-less growth.

Unfortunately - that is not a way for shoring up the economy sustainably, as the bottom 20% of Indians don't have jobs they can feed their families with. India is a failure at creating this kind of semi-skilled and low-skilled jobs by creating export opportunities. Modi has been an abject failure at this. Covid-19 administered a double whammy and ruined the prospects of a quick recovery in India.

What I just said above.

But media BS can only be run for so long before people figure out what's what...
Of course the Irony is you started this thread to hate on India (and feel better).

So what does it say about you and your kind ?

Don't answer, its a rhetorical question.

Feeling better or worse is not the point. Facts are facts.

It is what it is.

good for china....btw, india is at least 30 years behind china.
current political scenario is not helping either.
i think china should bailout pakistan from its current economic crisis. this way it can have a new vassal without much controversy and much to the relief of ordinary pakistanis.
PS: dont watch gaurav arya posts. he always says "likhkey doonga", but he never does.

If Indians are as rational and pragmatic as you are, the situation in India will be much better than it is now.
However, according to what I have seen on various websites, there are only a few Indians like you.
