I'm simply stating my observations of how a good religion has been demonized by the actions of a few.
If Islam is criticized in todays world, it is because it suffers from a perception problem. That perception is created by us, the non muslims.
So if you don't have a strong enough constitution to stomach the perception problems faced by Islam, then please skip over my comment. It wasn't directed at you anyways.

Besides, we have 180+ MM muslims in India who are open minded and ready to face this challenge head on. @SOUTHie being the best example of a liberal muslim who understands the importance of separating church from State.

Islam as a religion itself is pure, its some people practicing it that misuse it and give it a bad name.
The problem with Islam today is that it peaked too early. Its best leadership that helped spread the word through conquests or spirituality (Sufi) are long gone. Unfortunately we are left with a bunch of headless chickens who are basking in the glory of the past with little substance to go with it.
Strong leadership in Islam that understands that todays world is about coexistence in a secular environment where faith is personal issue rather than a state issue is required to change course. Until then, Islam will continue to suffer as it has over the last few decades at the hands of a few irresponsible people.

You can use a knife to cut vegetables or stab someone. As such the thing will obviously become famous for what it is being used. Religion as a matter of fact should be personal but once it becomes a tool to propagate political objectives and impose itself on others it is no longer a religion. ppl in Saudi Arabia can claim it is religion but for us it will be seen as expeditionary force out to conquer rest of them.

I dont support it when Manmohan Singh and congressis said minorities should have "first right" on nations resources and I dont support it when SS does likewise with majority. Both are equally disgusting and revolting concepts, resources should be allocated on merit period. We can then discuss how best to achieve so that merit (it is my contention that the free market is the least worst system) is in play, but thats a different conversation.
