"Pakistan took great trouble and we need to appreciate that," he added.

The 11 Indians were evacuated by a Pakistani navy ship from Yemen to Karachi along with 171 Pakistanis. The Indians were then flown here on Wednesday.

Jaishankar said the crisis like in Yemen provides an opportunity for countries to work together as noted that India too had evacuated 409 nationals of 32 countries, including Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

"Different countries are helping out irrespective of nationalities," he said, adding India sees it as an opportunity to cooperate with each other while some may see it as "posturing".

There is news coming in that lot more Indians are stuck in Yemen and therefore any help in evacuating them would be Godsend. Help coming in from neighboring countries in getting out stranded nationals should be appreciated wholeheartedly.

When asked to give a message to Pakistanis, the Indian citizen said “don’t bring politics into this, bring brotherhood".

Indian citizen named Paul told DawnNews that he was also in Yemen for work purposes. "I have been in Yemen since a month and went there for work from Dubai," he said. "In that month problems arose in Yemen and we were told we will be evacuated...and only Pakistan Navy's ship was there. Our aim was to escape Yemen somehow."

"The Pakistan Navy brought us here and they did really good work," Paul added.
