Sir,,ur ambiguous replies never help

Look, instead of debating whether the common man would be adversely affected, or not at all, or by how much, before any evidence is available, is rather pointless. We still do not know what steps the government will take, for example, or what the IMF deal, if it happens, will impose, or oil prices, why don't we just chill for now and wait.

Is that still ambiguous?

One IMF prescription is to devalue the currency. currency devaluation makes imports expensive. petroluem is imported.

Chinese loans need repaying from 2020 onwards, no? That's when the real fireworks start!

I love the Indian economist that knows so much about Pakistan's economy, while 800 million Indians live under poverty line.

It will help in reforms if Pakistani government is interested, which it seems for the first time to be. Pakistan seems to have gotten the sureties, the economics dictated many times that country would go bankrupt but somehow it survived ....... the cost of Pakistan going bankrupt is too high, not for Pakistan only but others too. It seems to be a two fold (or may be multi fold strategy) you cannot bring reforms in face of whole system opposing it, take example of FBR, so an outsider dictating that reform for you is necessary and helps.

Common Pakistani won't suffer much, he never did, they adopt quickly. It will surely take some years before we see an up and running efficient system.

Asad Umar is pushing this PTI govt. into the ditch, what an absolute moron.

Its not in Pakistan's interest to go to IMF. Its in Asad Umar and other bloody agents own interest to keep a window open towards USA. This BS excuse that IMF helps in getting loans from multilateral institutions is also ludicrous.

IMF wants inflation to cross 15% thats all they want. They don't want Pakistani cost of doing business to return to levels of ASEAN. They want to make it most expensive nation to do anything and will give loans to fund more corrupt b*stards in the Govt. ministries to do the rest.

I always knew if we get into this program they will ensure that Pakistan's fundamentals are completely devastated on the point of no return. And they are doing that. Hoping against hope Imran Khan takes the final decision and restrain this jack*ss Asad Umar who has screwed up everything since he took up. He actually does'nt need him if all the decisions are being shoved by a bureau mafia in finance division and they are following them blindly.

This joke is not even one-sixth of Ishaq Dar who handled IMF team pretty well.
