Imran wants the living standards of Pakistanis to improve. An effective way to achieve that is to have peace with the neighbours, so we can trade, and in the long term we could even reduce our defence expenditure.

Tourism money from Indians would only be a small part of the economic benefit. In any case there is nothing wrong with profiting from religious tourism. India does that quite well.

But the reasons for the peace overtures are not only economic. Imran Khan may have many faults, but he is not a bigot. Contrary to the media's characterization of him as a right wing nationalist, he actually has very left wing, progressive, inclusive views.

Having lived the cosmopolitan life that he has, and then his leaning towards the sufi schools, it is not surprising that he wants to have good relations with people of all ethnicities and religions.

You really need to stop looking at everything as some sort of conspiracy. Things are not always as sinister as you imagine. Often the motives are quite obvious and innocuous.

There was not a single Muslim PM for the same reason because of which there was not a single lower caste, Dalit or adivasi PM. It's as simple as that.
