Imran Khan owns assets worth Rs3.8 million

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan owns assets worth more than Rs3.8 million.

Moreover, the PTI chief earned Rs4,776,611 last year, as per the record submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The documents reveal details of Imran’s earnings from agriculture, salary and bank profits.

The cricketer-turned-politician paid Rs303,763 in taxes last year.

Imran is also the owner of 168 acres of agricultural land, according to the documents — a copy of which is available with Geo News.

The PTI chief has also submitted details of his foreign trips along with his nomination papers to the ECP.

This year, Imran only travelled to the United Kingdom. The three-day trip costs Rs240,000, according to the documents.

According to the documents, Imran does not own any businesses in Pakistan or abroad.

However, the PTI chairman owns 14 properties across Pakistan and none abroad.

Imran's wife, Bushra Bibi, and his two sons with Jemima Khan — Qasim and Sulaiman — have been listed as his dependents.

The documents state that Bushra Bibi's assets have not been included as their marriage took place in 2018. Similarly, Imran's sons have been shown as "not financially dependent".

A returning officer (RO) on Tuesday rejected Imran's nomination papers for NA-53 for failing to properly fill out the affidavit attached with the nomination papers.

The PTI chief's candidacy was also rejected from NA-95 (Mianwali).

However, Imran's nomination papers were accepted from NA-35 (Bannu), NA-131 (Lahore) and NA-243 (Karachi).

If same person is rejected AND accepted from different stations...there seems no guidelines as to how this is being done and is solely on the basis of the mood of the RO?

So imran khan is wala banda running for pm  choosing a lesser evil i think

. . .
168 acre of land, 14 properties and still claiming asset of worth Rs 3.8 million?

.
Why he is rejected from NA-95 ?
Because RO felt like it! Seems that way...

168 acre of land, 14 properties and still claiming asset of worth Rs 3.8 million?
There was an article on Bilawal that somehow they are supposed to declare the value of the property when they bought it not including inflation, not current market value!

This is ridiculous logic dont you think? They want current asset or assets 50 yrs back?

Infact tax rates seems quite low considering he paid only 300K approx on 4 million income.

I think there is no tax on agricultural income in Pakistan.. His major chunk of income comes from agriculture?

He showed the current market value in FBR as far as I remember, and he owns properties in billions of rupees (current market value).

I don't know why they aren't required to show the properties on current value.. And why Pakistan doesn't have capital gains tax.. It is only paid when a property is sold.. not on a yearly basis as in UK.

I am talking about Bilawal:

However, PPP leader Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar on Monday defended party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari against the objection. He clarified that the party chairman declared the correct value of assets as required by the tax authorities.

Khokhar, who also serves as chairman of the Senate Committee on Human Rights, told Hamid Mir that Section 116 of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001 stipulates that all taxpayers declare their assets at cost (the value at the time of purchase).

The PPP chairman inherited Bilawal House in 1990 as a gift from his mother, late Benazir Bhutto. Khokhar pointed out that the property was valued at Rs3 million at that time.

I don't even have a vote but best of luck to IK.

You should know that when a person holds public office, he has to be prepared to answer questions about his murky doings.
If Imran Khan don't like to give answers about his source of income than he should quit running for highest possible public office.
