New Delhi: Union Minister of State for External Affairs General VK Singh has once again put his foot in his mouth. Commenting on the burning of two children near Faridabad in Haryana, the former Indian Army chief said Central government has nothing to do with it.

"This incident has nothing to with the Central government. This is the failure of state government. If someone throws stones at a dog, the government is not responsible," he said. Singh also said that the whole incident is a case of personal enmity.

General VK Singh has in the past too, faced the ire for his controversial statements.

Hitting out at Singh, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah said, he was "speechless".

Leaders from across various political parties have slammed Singh for his "irresponsible" comments. "This is as if the government has nothing to do with the incident whereas the family had written to the government," former AAP leader Yogendra Yadav said.

"This comment is casteist. A case should be put against VK Singh. He has no right to stay in Cabinet. It's tragic that you have a person so casteist sitting in the Cabinet. When an investigation is on, how can he as a minister say it was family rivalry. This is amounting to influencing the probe," CPM leader Brinda Karat said.

Two children of a Dalit family were burnt alive and their parents suffered injuries allegedly after some persons from upper caste set their house afire while they were sleeping. The shocking incident occurred at around 2.30 AM on Tuesday at Sunped village on the outskirts of Delhi.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the case on the basis of preliminary investigation. Three policemen have also been suspended for dereliction of duty.

Vaibhav, who was two-and-a-half years old, and his sister, 11-month-old Divya, died after the attackers allegedly poured petrol from the window and set the house ablaze while the family was sleeping inside. A religious programme was being held nearby in the village at that time.

Their mother Rekha, 28, suffered serious burns and has been referred to Delhi for treatment while their father Jitender, 31, too suffered injuries while trying to save his family.

Hey Indians was this guy really your Army Chief ?

RK Singh should learn to keep him mouth shut.

If you do not know how to handle the media, the media will handle you. No point in blaming the Presstitute for your lack of intelligence.

No amount of media training can compensate for lack of grey matter.

Scuffle over mobile triggered caste war in Faridabad - The Hindu

From the article:

Rakesh, another man belonging to Rajput community, however, claimed that it was a dispute between a few families of both communities and it was wrong to involve the entire village in it. “It is a Rajput-dominated village with over a thousand Rajputs and just 400 Jatavs. We have been living in harmony for hundreds of years and there has never been any such incident. Even the Rajput families involved in the dispute do not command much respect in their community. It is wrong to say that it is a dispute between the two communities; it is a fight between a couple of families of the two communities. The two communities are still living very much in harmony,” said, 40-year-old Rakesh, a Rajput.

Excellent way to spin a inter-family feud into a caste-conflict. What does the MSM really want? They seem to be playing a very dangerous game.

BJP is a party who is self goal in its own goal post...
Voting is going in bihar and such a irresposible statement will only divert all votes of dalit to Mahagathbandhan...
Earlier modi too compared muslim killing in gujarat as with dog killing...

Damage control.

India is renowned for discrimination towards its minorities including Dalits. It's part and parcel of Indian culture and religion to discriminate against lower caste "sub humans". Change you culture of rape and discrimination instead of diverting the issue.

This not how a responsible center behaves.

These guys come out and give some kind of weird statements to make things worse.

Simply put these guys are more jingoistic than mature.Justice must be delivered and those animals who killed these boys must be punished.

So why is Modi Govt. NOT taking actions against people who abuse freedom of speech and try to spin this as a caste war ?

What excuse does the BJP govt. have for allowing such hate news to spread and weaken India ?

Who is to blame ? the pressitute with an agenda or the govt. who allow them to break the law without any repercussion.

You have identified the real reason for this news.

Elections in Bihar for the vote of Dalits which will decide the govt. there.

What ...........you just believe everything the media tell you ? How do you even know he was talking about Dalit killings.. ?

read the thread title and content before debating.

Read what he said before replying. Its important to think for yourself instead of letting morons think for you. What he said had nothing to do with Dalit children, but had more to do with how media reacts.

If that guy is in responsible position there is no need to rant like that and give media a chance.
