Israel Aerospace Industries Presents a Wide Variety of Technologies and Products at DEFEXPO India 2010
ISRAEL - 15 FEBRUARY 2010

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is presenting a variety of its advanced technologies and products at this year's DEFEXPO India in New Delhi, India, taking place February 15th – 18th, 2010.

ELTA Systems Ltd., a group and wholly owned subsidiary of IAI, will exhibit its Conformal Airborne Early Warning & Control (CAEW) system on two models, the IL-76 and the G-550. This system includes ELTA's EL/W-2085 new generation AEW platform, a long-range, high performance, multi-sensor system which introduces a new level of performance to AEW, tactical surveillance or airborne and surface targets, and the gathering of signal intelligence.

ELTA will present a number of models or mockups of its advanced radar systems, including the EL/I-3001 Airborne Integrated SIGINT System, a multi-platform, multi-mission signal intelligence system presented on the Gulfstream G550 aircraft; the EL/I-3360 Maritime Patrol Aircraft, which provides comprehensive situational awareness and maritime domain superiority; the El/L-8385 Integrated UAV Electronic Support Measures/Electronic Intelligence System and the EL/K-7071 Integrated UAV Communication Intelligence System, both of which are used to disseminate intelligence reports and provide tactical and strategic intelligence; and the EL/K 1891/2 Satellite Communication Network.

In addition, ELTA will display models of the EL/K-1895 Man-Portable SATCOM Terminal, a lightweight terminal providing communication with all network subscribers, including over-the-horizon; the ARC-840 Airborne Protected Communication System, providing air-to-air, air-to-ground, and ground-to-ground voice and data communications; the EL/L 8251 Escort Jammer System, an advanced electronic warfare system that suppresses all types of enemy Air Defense Surveillance and Fire Control Radars along the mission flight path; the EL/M-2226 Advanced Coastal Surveillance Radar, which detects all types of surface targets, even under extremely adverse sea conditions; the EL/M-2052 Active Phased Array Airborne Fire Control Radar, designed for advanced strike missions and based on active phase array technology; and the EL/I-8222 Self-Protection Jamming Pod suppresses multiple threats in dense, radar-guided weapon system environments, thereby enhancing survivability of fighters and other military aircraft.

ELTA will also display, for the first time at an air show, the Homeland Security (HLS) Combo Pole, a compact, 3D pole for ground mobile intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. The system, which is designed to provide a real-time ground situation awareness picture, can operate either alone, or as part of an array of additional systems. The subsystems installed on the combo pole include a variety of sensors, including a movement detection radar and a stabilized day/night electro-optical sensor.

IAI's MALAT Division will present a number of its Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) systems and solutions, such as members of IAI's Bird Eye Family, including the Bird Eye 400, 600, and 650. This kind of mini UAV provides real-time day/night imagery, data for urban operations, and over-the-hill intelligence. The Bird Eye offers a high level of operational flexibility with latest generation autonomous flight and mission capability.

A model of the Naval Rotary Unmanned Air Vehicle (NRUAV), IAI's solution for maritime multi-layered intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions operated by unmanned helicopters from a ship deck, will be exhibited.

IAI's MLM Division will exhibit the Long Range Artillery (LORA) Weapon System and the Extended Range (EXTRA) Artillery Rocket. The LORA system is capable of engaging strategic fixed or mobile targets from mobile and/or maritime platforms. The EXTRA, which is capable of being launched from multiple platforms, is packed in a four-unit pod configuration for land-based launches. It can be installed on a vehicle on in a fixed installation. EXTRA's munitions have a range of over 150 km (93 miles) and carry a 125 (275 lbs) warhead. The EXTRA is precise to within 10m.

In addition, IAI's Systems Missiles and Space Group will exhibit its Laser Homing Attack Missile (LAHAT) for precision attacks. The LAHAT is a multi-mission missile fired from a wide variety of land vehicles, helicopters, and tanks.

IAI's Tamam Division will present members of its Plug-In Optronic Payload (POP) family, including the POP 300, an advanced electro-optical (EO) payload fully qualified for air, ground, and marine application. The POP300 is a gyro-stabilized, dual sensor, single line replaceable unit payload with a day/night observation system, a high-quality thermal imager, and color TV. The POP is operated via a data-link from a ground station, or, in the case of manned platforms, by an onboard operator, using a specially designed hand control grip and video monitor. Tamam's mini POP will also be on display: an 8" lightweight payload for day/night observation, the mini POP is designed for military, paramilitary, and civilian applications. It provides real-time images and precise target geo-locations, and can be used for small platforms including small UAVs, armored vehicles, unmanned ground vehicles, and naval vessels.

On display will be the Guardium, an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) designed and developed by G-NIUS, a joint venture of IAI and Elbit Systems Ltd. The Guardium is a semi-autonomous UGV, comprised of the vehicles, a dedicated command and control application, a customer-tailored communication system, a modular selection of payloads, and a comprehensive logistic support package.
