Btw, the induction date was once again delayed as it seems from June to September, according to Livefist (unnamed sources though).
I think that the handover is still in July, the induction is in September. This seems to be the normal procedure. The reporter is confusing the two. That's what I meant:

By March testing will be over.
In the words of a senior officer associated with the programme, and one who will be part of 4-6 month user evaluation trials aimed for April
The article said:
So depending on how reliable the source is, the induction can obviously take place only after these final trials are over and if now additional changes need to be made.
So the timeline isThe team is looking to wrap up development flight & systems trials by the end of March
The same article says
So the timeline is
March : Development trials end
April: 4-6 months user trials
September: Induction into IAF (year end)
I am just summarizing the article. March isn't too far. Let's see.Development flight! That is DRDO's part of tests to integrate the radar, but has nothing to do with induction into IAF, which requires the additional trial series before it can be put into IAF service and all this was suppose to be done by last year, so lets see if they can get it done till next month.
Meh though really. User trails start in April, induction of the first aircraft by September and the 2nd one by the end of 2015, the third one in early 2016 isn't bad at all. That's what I meant:

^^ 8 DRDO AEW&C at the end? Lets hope.
+ 6 AWACS indiaIF true (IDRW), 7 for IAF and 1 for DRDO. That gives IAF a total of 12 AWACS, still 3 below the requirements.
