IAF to begin upgradation of MiG-29 fighters: Official

Don't they already have their hands overloaded with a dozen other projects? With their current capacity of production, I don't think this should be given to HAL at all. Let them focus on getting the current job done: getting the Tejas production rate at 30 jets a year minimum. Let UAC do this upgrading.

They've got their priorities all wrong. We're doing great in the heavy category. The mid can even be negotiated to part production and part assembly agreement with the winner of MRCA but our light fleet is in a complete chaos. MiG-21s are falling out of the skies like mosquitos; now add MiG-27s to that list as well. Our squad strength is depleting faster than we're able to replace them.

HAL needs to put 100% concentration on Tejas first.

The upgrade of th MiG-29 will transform it from an air-defence interceptor to a multirole jet.
The best part is to have both Fulcrums and Flankers in our fleet.both are arguably the most maneuverable jets in service.
