I Love Pakistan - Donald Trump

At what cost?
Not much.

We need to redefine our rules-of-engagement with the US, and make it clear to American administration (in writing) that what we want and/or expect from them in the matters of economy, terrorism, military and CPEC. This is also a good time to appoint a foreign minister.

Because sooner or later, Trump will set his sight on Pakistan.

Lets have a rational debate here, do you guys really think after so much badmouthing about islam and pakistan trump would randdomly say that 'I love Pakistan'

:omghaha:

That's fake dude, notice the lapse between "I love" and Pakistan. By now you should have figured out how pakistanis operate.

The republicans have the majority in Congress but that doesn't necessarily mean Donald Trump and Congress will work in unison. A lot of the republicans openly criticized Donald Trump all throughout his campaign. If they don't see eye to eye, it could end up being a deadlock as it was during Obama's last few years with Republican majority Congress.

Given his lack of political experience, he will either let the people behind him dictate his every move in shaping the domestic and foreign policy or if his own pride gets in the way he will try to do his own thing causing a clash between Republican majority Congress and the executive branch.
It is not that simple. That divide almost evaporated during the election campaign. Trump brought Republicans to power this time; they are in his debt (not the other way around). Trump is even being hailed as the great reformer of Republicans, behind-the-scenes.

The tone is already different: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...ump-saved-gop-majority-house-senate/93542726/

They also wouldn't want the Democrats to take advantage of any potential infighting.

However, I do not dismiss the possibility of Trump and Republicans to reach an understanding on several fronts. They will surely do their homework, collectively.

Good points. The Turkish folks are on the same page. Anyway, what can be worse for the Turkish and the Pak folks????
Thank you.

Well, I don't won't to mention the worst-case scenario. :D

There is a call from within the political circles in Pakistan to redefine relations with the US. Now is the right time. :)

I am confident that Turkey can achieve a better understanding with the new American administration. :)

Trump's primary concerns are jobs, economy and crimes. He will be more flexible in the matters of foreign affairs than his predecessor (which is a good sign) but he is not a toothless tiger either. :)

Trump victory shows that majority of US citizens favour the policy of America first and to hell with rest of the world. Is it a bad thing? For a liberal like me, yes. Nevertheless, ultimately this is what the US voters want, whether we like it or not

What does it mean for Pakistan?
Since Trump is against Muslims in general and ISIS in particular; expect he would be tough against Saudi Arabia (bearing in mind reports that Saudis & the Qataris favour ISIS ) and insist that Pakistan take a stronger line against the “good” Taliban. However, except for the countries such as UK, Germany, France, Russia, China, Japan and Israel; US policy towards foreign countries is formulated by the think tanks and the State Department bureaucrats. IMHO, I don’t think Trump will be either better than or any worse for Pakistan compared what Hilary would have been.
Don't you think the good taliban ideology fell right into their face?? because they were good when they were blowing up soviets..it didn't work on Pakistan, they have tried by using sanction cards, what else can they do?? I do not think anything's gonna change..... We are hunting down those who are against our interests, they better seal border with Pakistan to let us make things and development in tribal belt work...

SEE!! I TOLD YA!!!
Things are gonna be great with this guy in office

Enjoy it while you can guys, my threads have a 95% mod shutdown rate

The Trump also seems to have a soft spot for India. Just last month, he attended an elaborate charity event hosted by Republican Hindu Coalition (RHC) and promised that India and the US would be “best friends” if he were president.
So, what would a Trump presidency mean for Pakistan? stop depending on USA kick all corrupt leaders improve economy defense relations with other super powers .Arab countries head not sincere with Muslims trump key in there hand.

Barking dogs never bite
Jo Garjte hain wo braste nahi so be it Modi or Trump don't worry they are teethless and not harm us:coffee:

the way the media and left has portrayed Trump...you would think he and his red hats are going to round up all the jews,Muslims,LGBTQ, and put them in concentration camp or worse execute them.

the hyperbole and hysteria is too funny.
It's what the indians wanted and that's the only reason they funded his party.

When did Pakistan faced sanctions ?? The sanctions one India and Pakistan after our respective nuclear tests didn't even last for 6 months. It was immediately lifted by Clinton administration.

Do you seriously think Pakistan can actually survive a real economic sanction ?? :)

No, both India and Pakistan had never faced a real economic sanctions. That's the main reason for your claim as well, because you don't know what a real economic sanction looks like. Not your fault though. :)

An excerpt from the above;

Just six months after the sanctions were announced, however, the United States had lifted virtually all of them. The process of weakening the sanctions in place against India and Pakistan had actually begun in July 1998, when the Senate voted to exempt food exports from sanctions.2 On October 21, 1998, Congress passed the Brownback Amendment, which gave President Clinton the authority to waive certain economic sanctions in place against India and Pakistan and to resume trade financing and other assistance programs for up to 12 months.
