I am Urdu

emotional thinking yours??

changing to roman script will lead to more users of urdu among non-south-asians and south asians... in fact, roman script should be made the universal script, with appropriate notation-marks to identify sounds in certain languages ( like the expelled-air kh sound in urdu ).
Very good idea.It has become a burden even on children especially in a country like India where a child is required to learn 3 languages;at least Indian languages are phonetic languages,we can somehow manage learning them with less effort but Urdu script is hell.I tried many times to learn it but forced to give up.I found Arabic script a bit easy.Anyway all the Indian scripts should be replaced by roman script.

Just an interesting fact for u guys:
Musharrafs family is originally from Ludhiana. Old delhi had a lot of punjabi muslims, specially from east punjab before 1857. They had contributed financially towards the rebel cause in 57 and were as a result deported when the british took back Delhi

Vennligst snakk på norsk til meg.

du er en morsom dame.

I am not every language. I am Norge. I speak English and Swedish too. But I make an attempt to understand others.

you caught me there.

well, i was talking from a communist perspective - simplification of the world by limiting the number of languages and changing all scripts to roman script... maybe the scandinavia region can have a common language, new.

Don't care about non South Asians understanding Urdu. Urdu has a rich literature in Arabic-Farsi script, most of us are happy with the script. We don't want to ruin our language.
