Hyderabad:Myanmar refugees find safe haven in city

.
I lived in hyderabad, I disagree.
Its nowhere near some cities in gujrat.

I said one of the. Not the.
May I know when you lived ? Because current situation is not the same. Even very very small things lead to fights. People from both the communities are just waiting for a reason to fight...

.
Why do you think country will suffer for a few refugee? Its our human duty to help those in distress.

For an impoverished nation like India, already struggling to provide basic necessities to its own people, is there more need for additional mouths to feed?

.
after Burma is calmed, these migrants should be sent back

That is what should happen. And they were made refugees by the Junta who were persecuting them, not migrants seeking economic opportunities out of free will.

The question is: Will Myanmar accept them? Rohingyas aren't considered citizens in Myanmar.

According to General Thien Sien, the best way to deal with all of the Rohingyas in Myanmar is to permanently send them to a third country.

If you guys are concerned, you better start seriously talking with the Burmese, including Aung Sang Suu Kyi's NLD party. Otherwise, all this QQing is a waste of time.

My two cents.

There are troubles in the old city area. though rare.

This is bad,

Think America or Pakistan should take them.

Well five/six years ago. Is it really that bad now?
I did not know any telugu, and muslims were the only people I could talk to. :)

Have you ever given shelter to a needy person at ur home ??

If no , why put on a liberal spring when it comes to India ?? BTW you see u live in far away UK perhaps permanently.
Dont make it personal. Lets talk about what a 'country' should do when refugees come.
Most countries are morally (even legally) bound to give shelter, even poor african countries do it.

These are not economic migrant coming in boats, these are people who are scared of losing their life.

Myanmar does not accept Rohingyas are their citizens. So they are for-all-intents-and-purposes migrants, permanent ones at that.

They wont go back though, some of them moved to Arab/Pak/BD countries when the previous riots broke out 20 years ago, and they never returned when things calmed down. These guys are stateless, they are not recognized citizens of Myanmar, if they come to India, they will guaranteed want (and thanks to Congress votebank, will get) Indian passports and citizenship. So thanks, but no thanks.

I know enough hypocrites who put on liberal mascots as long as it doesn't hurt their own self interests .

On the the ethical issue of giving shelter to citizens other countries , there are UN conventions ,but not legally bound international laws to give shelter to refugees .Its totally dependent of the host country's policy .
