Husband forces ex-model to convert to Islam, marries another woman

MUMBAI: A former model based in Mumbai has alleged that her Muslim husband assaulted her and forced to convert to Islam.

The woman further said that the husband has "remarried a Hindu girl half his age” and has asked her to leave their house.

“He is now trying to evict me from our marital home. I am facing a serious threat to my life,” said the ex-model.

The woman has claimed that she was also tortured and assaulted.

"I am a Hindu. I didn't give into his pressures," she added.

A case has been registered case against two people by the Bandra Police. Police investigation underway.

Britain's ambassador to Saudi Arabia has become the first person in that role ever to complete the Islamic Hajj.

Simon Collis, a veteran diplomat and London's ambassador to Riyadh since 2015, converted to Islam recently.

He was pictured next to his wife, Huda Mujarkech, in the traditional white robes worn by pilgrims.

Translation: First British ambassador to the kingdom completes the hajj after becoming a Muslim: Simon Collis and his wife Huda in Mecca. Thank God.

The image was first shared on Twitter this week by the prominent women's rights activist Fawziyah al-Bakar. Collis, 60, replied in Arabic, thanking Bakar for sharing the image.

The diplomat, a graduate of Christ's College Cambridge who has previously served as Britain's ambassador to Qatar, Syria and Iraq, told another user in Arabic that he had converted to Islam “after spending 30 years in Muslim societies” and marrying Mujarkech.

Collis was expelled from Syria in 2011 after being declared "persona non grata" by the government of Bashar al-Assad. He took up his post in Saudi Arabia in February 2015 after a two-year stint in Iraq.

There is only one cure for men that rape, molest or assault women.......................shot them. India needs to implement this ASAP coz its getting out of control there and this incident is quite minor in comparison to what else is happening there.

There is no compulsion in religion - Quran.

If someone is forced against his/her wish... she doesnt become a muslim as per Islam.... unless he/she accepts Islam with his/her hear...

The man in this case is a scumbag... even in Pak.. as per our laws..... he could be jailed for 3 offenses.... forcing her to change religion, assaulting her/domestic violence, second marriage without permission.... etc

I don't really believe such sob stories at their face value especially when it's a marriage gone sour. Women do make outlandish claims just to teach her husband and his family a lesson during an ugly divorce, and since love jihad is flavor of the season I wouldn't be surprised if she threw in such an accusation in the mix to make her husband's life a hell.
