Syed Ali Shah Geelani-led Hurriyat Conference has termed China as a reliable friend of the people of Kashmir and said it is extremely thankful to Beijing for its ‘unconditional support’ and for not recognizing the Himalayan State’s ‘illegal and forced occupation by India’.

The amalgam of separatist parties while reacting sharply to former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s jibe at separatist leaders for maintaining silence over Chinese troops’ reported presence in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir said his statement was “immature and meaningless”, reflecting only “half truth”.

Omar Abdullah had at the weekend questioned silence of separatist leaders and parties on the issue and tweeted “How is it that Kashmiri leaders who have so much to say about Indian troops in J&K have nothing to say about Chinese troops across the LoC?”.

The Hurriyat Conference faction in a statement issued here on Monday sought to draw Abdullah’s attention towards the ‘fact’ that the presence of Chinese army in Azad Kashmir is under a mutual agreement reached between Islamabad and Beijing as part of the Pak-China economic corridor process.

Asserting that “pro-freedom people” of Jammu and Kashmir have no reason to oppose this move, the Hurriyat Conference also said, “Unlike India which has attacked and forcibly occupied (part of) Jammu and Kashmir, China has not attacked and forcibly occupied the Pakistan-administered-Kashmir or Azad Kashmir.”

It further said, “China is a strong supporter of the right to self determination of the Kashmiri people; hence it is in no way fair to compare the Chinese army with cruel and oppressive occupational forces of India who are carrying out genocide of the Kashmiri people in a planned manner for the last 68 years”.

The Hurriyat Conference said that India has long pending border disputes with China and several frontier states of the country including Arunachal Pradesh are still a cause of tension between the two countries.

“The two neighbours sometimes share bitter relations over these issues but as far as the State of Jammu and Kashmir is concerned, it is quite different issue in nature. If there is any misunderstanding, we (Hurriyat Conference) believe that after attaining freedom from the Indian forced occupation, it can be settled in a friendly atmosphere and China will never do any such action which will endanger the sovereignty and integrate of Jammu and Kashmir,” the separatist amalgam said.

It asserted that Abdullah has no moral justification to criticize the separatists “because he has accepted the Indian forced occupation in Kashmir and is providing a certificate to their illegal control”. It asked him, “How can you lecture people on these issues when you yourself do not act? It is the hypocrisy and it cannot be the way of a principled man”.

Tibetans say homeland under Chinese occupation, call for autonomy

Tibet's leadership in exile said on Tuesday its mountain homeland was occupied by China and called for more autonomy, days after Chinese President Xi Jinping vowed an unceasing fight against "separatism" by the Dalai Lama and his followers.

As Beijing marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Tibet Autonomous Region, the India-based government-in-exile also said it was not for China to decide who should succeed Tibet's spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, on his death.

"Tibet is under occupation today," said Lobsang Sangay, who took charge of the government four years ago, leaving the Dalai Lama, an octogenarian Buddhist monk, to dedicate himself to his spiritual mission.

Sangay, speaking at a news conference in the Himalayan retreat of Dharamsala, objected to a statement last week by President Xi Jinping that China would never accept proposals for autonomy by the "Dalai group".

He refused to accept China's assertion of full sovereignty over Tibet, but reiterated a long-standing call for a "Middle Way" of autonomy that falls short of full independence.

The decades-old dispute centres on whether Tibet, a vast plateau with a population of just over 3 million people, is an integral part of China.

Beijing says it has historically been part of China. Sangay disagreed: "Tibet was an independent country and historians don't dispute that," he told reporters.

Agreeing to tread a middle way of Tibetan autonomy would benefit China, he added, because it would build trust with its neighbours.

"If you find a peaceful solution to the Tibet issue, China's soft power will increase because the international community has increasing scepticism and anxiousness towards the Chinese government," he said.

China calls the Middle Way as "a splittist demand", showing little appetite for negotiations and calculating that it may be able to cement control over Tibet by hand-picking a successor to the Dalai Lama, a Nobel Peace laureate.

That runs counter to the conviction of his followers that the reincarnation of their leader, the most recent in a monastic line dating from the 14th century, should be chosen according to his own instructions.

"As far as the reincarnation of the 14th Dalai Lama is concerned, it is the sole prerogative of His Holiness," said Sangay.

This year marks several sensitive anniversaries for the remote region that China has ruled with an iron fist since 1950, when Communist troops marched in and took control.

It also marked the 80th birthday of the Dalai Lama, who has lived in exile in India since fleeing Tibet in 1959 following an abortive uprising. (Writing by Douglas Busvine; Editing by Clarence Fernandez)

Geelani looks old now. He might die soon.
Soon india might get rid of this junk, so we need not really do anything against him.

Hummmmm, We should adopt the chinese model of shooting in the back side of head by lining these people against the wall so that they test the liberalism of china against the cruel democray of India who allows them to speak against nation freely. Afridi just said that he gets more love in india than in Pakistan. He got show cause notice. This is the difference between the great democracy of India and other nation. We tolerate even anti nationals and do not deny them any rights. This is the beauty of our democracy.

What will be impact if for some reason these separatist were killed in road accident or land slide or building collapse?

Now where is that Mumbai ka don who threatened to kill him ??:angry::angry:

I am ready to give him my ITR amount as a reward..:agree::agree:

And make a martyr out of him ?

Stupid move i would say.

Let the scum die a natural and slow death :)
In any case this scum will be made a martyr even if this old fellow dies of piles, TB or any disease. And mark my words you will hear many politicians praising this pathetic man for his so called deeds for freedom of Kashmir.
