I prefer we first manage our colony on Earth....................you know.............Global Warming, Habitat destruction, Animal Extinction and so on.

What do you need to Live on mars
1. Energy
Nuclear power plant to last for 100 years
2- Living cabins
20-40 Modular cabins can be landed by Automated Robotic systems
Assume this could be constructed with 30 Mars launches , a connected large module , with small units
A football side dwelling area
3- Vegetation Modules
Could be assembled by first settlers fully enclosed chamber for plant cultivation and plant growth
4- Water could be attained from CO2 and Hydrogen supply people will carry with them initially
then the water would be recycled using sewage plants
a) Water could be dug underground channels
b) Made by chemical reaction as mentioned earlier
c) Brought from Earth
d) Brought from external space body , water containing bodies are abundant in space
5 - Heavy Machinery can be flown in running on electricity modules charged , Nuclear power plant operating on Mars
Traditional Heavy machines would be flown in with electrical Units
5- First 500 Human would help setup a small village size community
They would do mining on Mars and if they find minerals and other resources sent that to
Earth Earth would sent back Food to Mars community
6- Genetically modified species of trees could be grown in Mars that can live in cold
temperatures and produce Oxygen in atmosphere
First goal of Community
a) Make 30 Produce farming Units (Farming Established)
b) Make 20 Water Tanks to store water
c) Capture enough H2 / in order to make emergency water supply
d) Dig under ground channels to find water
Second Goal (Minning / Exporting goods back to earth Trade)
Mine the planet and search for Gold, Silver , Minerals , Exportable goods
95 % of above technology already exist
Imagine a planet that has no environmental laws , ideal place for Industrialists
