Huawei's base station teardown shows dependence on US-made parts

So that's why they are being outcompeted - a single chip of theirs costs more than multiple Huawei base stations.

They are also doing mm wave which is short ranged, requires higher DSP capabilities relative to sub 6 GHz and may necessitate this higher expense.

You don't get faster data transfer rates with low latency unless you go down to mm wave, Huawei cannot stay exclusively in the sub-6 GHz spectrum band either and remain competitive on latency and speed.

Sub 6 already gets you far faster than 4G and mm wave is too short ranged and expensive for anything but urban cores.
