In the mass rally held by BNP in Dhaka on December 10, the party, which has been out of power for 14 years, presented 10 points.

Among the demands of the BNP presented at the mass rally held at Golapbagh grounds in the capital are - the resignation of the ruling government by abolishing the Jatiya Sangsad (Parliament), the formation of interim caretaker government in the light of the constitution of 1996, the cancellation of the Election Commission and the cancellation of Khaleda Zia's sentence. But the question is, how will BNP realize these demands? In that context, BBC Bangla spoke with BNP Standing Committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain.

Earlier, in another press briefing, Col. Oli Ahmad made some announcements about current BNP movement.

However, our @EasyNow, @UKBengali want the BAL party to remain in power forever.

It is like the old-time Chinese Emperors who would order their subordinates to find out great elixir medicines somewhere which would give them a life of 10,000 years and they could enjoy the company of many beautiful concubines during this long time.

The BAL party should find out such elixirs to prolong their grip on state power and meanwhile, they would grab many more billions of dollars worth of money illegally and it will prolong their personal life indefinitely.

However, I propose BAL should stay in power till 2041 when the BAL party makes BD a super-developed country that will surpass Japan, Germany, and France combined.

The combination of third rate superficial education and sudden increase of ego with looted money is a dangerous thing.... :-)

You probably have to offer Hasina a Nobel peace prize to walk away !

BNP's 27 points for political and administrative reforms look quite promising.

I'm not sure how much of it they'd be able to implement but serious considerations on this issue from the top level is a good start.

I would suggest they also talk about economic reforms and measures to curb money laundering and default loans.

What will BNP bring to Bangladesh that is better than the AL.

I like two term limits for PM and President is one of BNP key points. I think it should be one term though.
You don't want these f****** to grow roots on the job.

That appears to be the highlight of the manifesto, along with the proposal of a bicameral parliament.

I personally liked their proposal to amend Article 70 of the constitution the most. Parliamentarians must have freedom to vote against their party.

BNP bringing in old leadership will be just as bad as AL in power now. I would like to see Dr. Reza Kibria or some other qualified individuals as PM or Finance Minister.

Hear hear !

We need far more educated leadership (as befits our economic status) and possibly a group of technocrat and business savvy leaders who can offer better leadership in the global arena. Along with this - these leaders have to "handle" the US-China balance much more carefully than is being done currently. Indian influence and nosey behavior also need to be pared down considerably.

Current goonda cadre leadership headed by people like Kaua Quader is a disgrace.

Yes, a little learning and money earned with little effort are both dangerous.

This will work only if we can make it a law that no one can be elected PM more than 2 times.

Otherwise party lackeys will keep voting for party leaders , as personality cult is very deep rooted in Bangladesh since 1991!

I also think that revival of presidential form CAN be the better option.

So whatever the case , one must not be PM/president ( depending on form of democracy) for more than 2 term in their lifetime!

And presidential form will do better because president doesn't have to rely on party goons , rather he is elected as president by direct public vote!

BNP bringing in old leadership will be just as bad as AL
Although BNP common grassroot folks are much better than BAL , but BNP leadership is much worse than BAL leadership ( Hasina)!

Yes , whole heartedly agree!
