how can i promote history and culture of my Region ?

land of various Indo-Aryan,Scythian,Drividian(IVC) tribes such as Ahir(12%), Brahmin(5%), Rajput(20%), Gujjar(10%), Jat, Charan, Rabari and Bharvad(40%), patel(12%) and kathi(15%) who migrated from Punjab to Saurashtra and gave its new name Kathiyawar.
(totally different ethnic makeup from mainland Gujarat)

mer kshatriyas small community of 5% people who migrated from (Southern Iran,Balochistan and sindh) but still even rajputs dont have balls to pick a fight with these people.

and home of Saurashtra language(now extinct) but her soul is still lives inside Kathiyawari Dialect of Gujarati Language.

as you can see my small region is filled with various historical and cultural landmarks but due to sheer neglect our "Ancient History" is going down to the drains. as a native of this regions it pains me. only question that comes to my mind is how can i change this ? how can i turn this around ? how can i promote rich History and Culture of my Home my land ? it was easier for before when our land was a separate "state of Saurashtra" or "United States of Kathiyawar" in 19550s. we lost our statehood in 1961 and now playing 2nd fiddle to Gujaratis. today our region (with Kutch and Anhilwar) is poorest Region in Gujarat. please still miss our old state and still agree that we were better on our own.


i am a son of this great and holy soil and i want to do something for it and my people regardless of our caste or religious background. is there anyway i can promote my region to boost Tourism ? how ?

i am asking this question as this forum is filled with many intelligent and successful people from all over world. i hope you guys will help us.

Bapu for some reasons i have always considered Kathiyawar more related to Rajasthan rather than Gujarat.. Specially the ethnic composition and food.
BTW kathiawar and saurashtra are face of Gujarat tourism i think..

you can say that. but actually our closest kins are kutchhi and anhilwari people in gujarat and Sindhi and southern rajasthani in General.

foreample Jadeja rajputs use title "jam" like "Jam bapu of navanagar"(jamnagar state) since they migrated from Sindh. still if i am not wrong Baloch and Sindhi rajputs use jam as their title.

sabarmati river actually divides Gujarat and KKA. like Indus divides Indic and Iranic world and yamuna divides North west and North Cental.

on simple note you can say that Raamlila shows our culture. guns,talwars,honor killings are actually part of our culture. and just like movie Rabari/Bharvad/Charan/Dangar/Ahir etc are sworn enemies of Rajputs and Kathi Darbars. and usually their have rivalries of 100s of years.

one of the newest example of honor killings between these 2 communities is Indrasingh zala of Zalawad. he 20 years ago killed a well known men from Bharvad community and went to jail for that. when he got released from jail he went to udaipur with his family and when he was returning to his home 15 Rabaris stopped his car and slit his throat with sword on national highway.

rajputs got angry and burned some Rabaris alive and destroyed their houses and villages. after that all rabaris created a united front and went there to fight rajuts but rajputs killed some rabaris there as well. one poor fellow got his head cut off by rajputs who just throw his sword towards that guy.

needless to say schools,Colleges (entire cities and villages) were closed for a week due to this riots. and 15to 20 year old teens from my own schools and colleges went to zalawad to fight for their communities !

unlike Gujarat you will get killed here for just looking or talking with girls, even in cities. one of my friend got his *** kicked royally for just asking a random girl "where can i find general store?" but you know best part of our culture ? you can buy guns,khanjars,swords for 5000 rupees ! you will find gun shos in almost all villages here.
i grow up with guns as well as its considered men's jewelry here. total Freedom
