Army lieutenant succumbs to wounds, embraces martyrdom​

Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik got critically injured and was under treatment at CMH Peshawar

RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik, a resident of district Attock in Punjab, aged 24, embraced martyrdom at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Peshawar, Inter-Services Public Relations reported on Monday.

A fire exchange took place between security forces and Khawarij at three different locations in Tirah Valley of Khyber District earlier on Friday. At one of the locations in Bagh, Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik, leading his troops from the front, fought bravely and sent four Khawarij to hell.

However, during an intense fire exchange, the officer got critically injured and was under treatment at CMH Peshawar. He embraced martyrdom today.

Uzair Mehmood Malik Shaheed served in the defense of the motherland for 3 years and 7 months.

Security Forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave officers and soldiers further strengthen our resolve.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited CMH Quetta to inquire about the well-being of security personnel injured in Kalat and other parts of Balochistan. He praised their dedication, calling them the nation's heroes and expressing pride in their sacrifices. Emphasizing the unity of the people and armed forces against terrorism, he asserted that no enemy could threaten Pakistan as long as its brave soldiers stand guard. The Prime Minister condemned those disrupting Balochistan’s progress, reaffirming the government's commitment to eliminating such threats and ensuring the region's peace and development.
 
On 16 March of 2025, a vehicle borne suicide bomber exploded himself on a security forces convoy in Nushki District.Resultantly, five brave sons of soil embraced shahadat; three security forces personnel and two innocent civilians. Shuhada include Havildar Manzoor Ali (Age: 38 years, resident of District Nawab Shah), Havildar Ali Bilawal (Age: 39 years, resident of District Naseer Abad), Naik Abdul Raheem (Age: 34 years, resident of District Badin), Civilian Driver Jalal ud Din (resident of District Quetta) and Civilian Driver Muhammad Naeem (resident of District Kharan).

In the ensuing sanitization operation, the terrorists were pursued and after intense fire exchange, three terrorists were effectively neutralized by the security forces.

Sanitization operations in the area would continue and perpetrators of this henious and cowardly act will be brought to justice.

Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers and valiant civilians further strengthen our resolve.
