No there is a very important reason around 'cow proection'. To some extent it's out of it's time. In aincient times Beef, rather than chicken was the primary source of meat (large scale contract farming of chicken is a 20th century phenomenon). Hindus were meat eaters at the time and were so into it that it resulted in large scale depletion of milch cattle. That, combined with Brahministic aversion to killing and eating meat led them to put cow at a 'sacred status'. Once you make it sacred people don't kill it. Overall it's been a good thing, allowed India to become the biggest producer of milk in the world. But the people uneducated with these things make it a big issue.

a) there is no evidence that your ancestors were from IVC, there is nothing known about the IVC except the sites. No idea of what their practices except architecture is. No idea of who the people were. In fact there is at least one line that invading raiders on horse backs attacked and slaughtered the IVC dwellers making them go extict and absorbing the rest (raping marauding them etc.).
b) You are inventing the idea of coming form the stock of IVC because you are insecure of your basis as a state. First you said you're creation is basis religion, when that felt short you had to invent something new

c) There no evidence of any cultural or agrarian practices impact from IVC either, while the vedas clearly list out that Hindu culture had a lot of it (including obviously writing)
