Farming was invented in Iraq and thanks to their traders your ancestors got the gift of farming. You went from painting your faces and eating ant chutney to growing crops and animals thanks to arabs/semetic people.

This idea of vegetarianism took hold after Hinduism, as even the Vedas talk about eating meet.
