Okay.. it may be lesser than 3K, but a sacrifice nonetheless. And the victory was for both India and Bangladesh.

And why do you think that Indians dont acknowledge the contribution of Mukti Bahini. We most certainly do.

Surrender of East Pakistan forces was to the Chief of Joint Indo-BD forces, who happened to belong to Indian Army.

And trade happens between both countries, if you purchase Indian goods then Bangladeshi clothes are sold in India too which are very common in Winter Season. And when did we do anything wrong with you? We even solved majority of our border issue even if we lost some land to Bangladesh in the process. We provided vaccines to the people of Bangladesh and even your Army. If you hate India its your own mind but atleast don’t badmouth the ones who don’t hate you. Such a 'what if' scenario has to be avoided at all costs. Anyways, Indian muslim population is more than the entire BD population. BD cant accomodate them all. I would assume they will give priority to Bengali speaking muslims from WB and North east. No chance for Hyderabadi muslims like you sir.

Indo-Pak war of 1971 is the official name, unfortunately they harnessed diplomatic power at the time and we get sidelined again..
No one calls the war "Indo Pak war of 71" in BD but we call it "shongram" (struggle).

The fact remains that when you voted in Modi and his RSS bandwagon - Hindutvas and their majority supporters in India knew full well that his MO would be to marginalize Muslim minorities as scapegoats and finger-pointing targets for everything wrong with India or Indians.

I DO NOT see this changing in the future.

• India's economy (thanks to uneducated Modi cabinet leadership f*ckups including those by Nirmala) will go from Bad to Worse.
• Witness demonetization etc. and what happened after.
• This chaos and disharmony between religions will only benefit a select few Hindutva leaders and their Banya cohorts.
• Muslims will keep getting painted and blamed as convenient scapegoats.
• CAA/NRC will keep painting Muslims as rioters and troublemakers in specific regions, making discriminatory attitudes against Muslims currently prevalent across all of India, much worse than today.
• JNU and Delhi Riots will be shown as concrete proof of Indian Muslim seditionary attitudes.
• Muslims will be marginalized even further in Jobs and education, keeping them poor and at the mercy of Hindu majority, right where BJP/RSS want them without a political voice (money is power).
• China's economy will totally eclipse that of India.
• Modi will keep singing the same 'geet', "only if we got rid of Muslims, India would become Amrika".
• Bangladesh' economy will be somewhat better than India - so talented Indian Muslims will get jobs here. I predict Bangladesh will offer immigration to bright, highly talented Indian Muslims (technologists), like @jamahir bhai. This is a need of the hour and I see it happening.
• Pakistan might absorb some exceptional Muslim talent too, but will be up to them.

Well they trained and gave arms to the Muktis from March until November. As Nehru and daughter planned for two decades and culminated in 1971 by Yahya, Bhutto and Niazi lack of tact.

It was mainly a war of attrition and ambush conducted by Muktis where they blew up bridges, electricity and infra to cripple Pak Army communications of many types, where PA was finally limited to cantonments and barracks by October/November.

Indian Generals (Arora and Jacobs) themselves admitted that they did not cross the border until first week of December 1971. IA/PA engagements were limited to minor border skirmishes before then. IA knew very well that their equipment would get bogged down in the muddy terrain in the monsoon, so they did not even try to cross the border.

Things would start drying up in November and they waited and drew up plans on how to conduct looting war trophies from the many govt. installations and factories (the subject of this thread). This and the media hoopla surrounding signing instruments of surrender in front of the IA was their main objectives, which they readied India media for, far ahead of time. To show the world what a great job IA did, winning propaganda victory.
