History of Durand Line: Some untold Facts

I am simply educating the ones who are surprised why Afghanistan is so mad about construction of gate at Torkham.....
Does it justify firing and killing especially in Ramadan?
But what do you think is the solution?

Ideally Afghanistan and Pakistan would have some agreement for free movement BUT this can only begin to happen if NATO leaves and any anti-Pakistani elements in Afghanistan are removed otherwise free movement will be the perfect cover and is the perfect cover for khwarij and other terrorists to come and cause destabilization.

Also me thinks that a part of the reason for the anger towards this gate is precisely that it will curb destabilization efforts; after all if it was about not accepting the Durand line, then simply having soldiers and other officials at this line would be enough to raise anger and trigger firings let alone building a security gate?

I do not have any solution in my mind for this issue......i agree with you that loose border like Durand with free movements, without gates and fencing, facilitates the movement of Taliban, harmful for both countries.

If Afghanistan doesn't accept the Durand Line, that makes Afghanistan the 5th province of Pakistan. We will lay claim to the entire Afghan republic.

My word !

Without being a province the Afghans have swarmed all over Pakistan to a point that they are a force to reckon with in distant Karachi too.

Once made a province the fun would really begin... in more ways than one.

Mind blowing idea !!

You are contradicting yourself. I corrected you that no referendum was held in FATA in 1947, why you are disagreeing with me?. No Shahi Jirga of Balochistan thing was conducted in FATA........., Pakistan simply retained it as successor state of British India. Perhaps you are not aware , but there can be hundreds of Maliks in a Pashtun tribe and they are not exactly equalant of baloch sardars, and have no powers like them. Please mentions the names of all the Maliks who you are claiming to members of a grand jirga who opted for Pakistan. Any scans of signed documents?, any date and details?.... jirga means an assembly, and the decision in it is reached through consensus. Did such thing happen in 1947's FATA?, nope....Did Jinnah meet Maliks of Mehsuds or Maliks of Jandol or Maliks of Daulatzais etc? nope

I am surprised U are denying the power of Mashran of FATA? It seems that TTP was fool enough to take 300 plus of the tribal Maliks to take over their respective villages and tribes. Like i said am done here. Plz read an unbiased history narration about FATA by the same residents of FATA, if at all interested.

If Pakistan declares that Durand line agreements are null and void, then Durand line cease to exist , which means FATA rightfully belongs to Afghanistan.......FATA is part of Pakistan simply because of Durand line agreements between British governament and Afghanistan..Pakistan retained FATA by claiming that it inherited Durand line treaty as successor state of British India.
I'm from mahsud tribe of South Waziristan, i don't give a damn what Afghanistan thinks about Durand line, Durand line is international border even your closest friend India accept it as an international border...Fata ppl fought in Kashmir alongside Pakistan army..Pakistan won't give an inch of land to Afghanistan forget about Whole Fata... soon fata will be a new province or it will be absorbed to kpk, Afghanistan can do it's Randi Rona in UN or New delhi but nothing will happen...
• just one advice for Afghanistan refugees & Afghanistan ppl across the border, first liberate your 40% territory from Talibans then come here into Pakistan & our tribal ppl are more than enough to deal with your so called ANA tigers...
• no one cares what kind of agreements were signed, afg gave it British & it's end of story, during independence our ppl decided to be part of Pakistan..if afg want to go to UN then Pakistan can also lay claim on most of afg territory bcz majority of pashtuns live here in Pakistan,UN is just a ceremonial body & in UN history not a single case have been decided till this date...afg have one option that's to forcefully occupy it :lol: before you go for misadventure let me give you 100% guarantee I.e every body of your soldier will be returned to afg from Waziristan border as goodwill gesture

...Fata ppl fought in Kashmir alongside Pakistan army..
Maseeda, it will go off-topic but those Mehsud tribesmen who went to Kasmir, were mercenaries and cannon fodder, nothing else. They were superb fighters but they caused embarrassment to Pakistani forces and governament, by looting Kashmiri people as they were not paid or any thing like that. Even today Kashmiris tell me that Mehsuds and other tribesmen looted Kashmiris in 1947-48

The day Pakistan came into being as an independent Muslim state on 14 August 1947, durand line or any other line was finished. It was Pakistan's generosity to allow them visit every now and then but it should stop now. We are not willing to lose our children and women in bomb blasts and our soldiers in unnecessary clashes. it should be sealed now.

The day Pakistan was made the afghans resented us. Only country in the UN not to recognize Pakistan and resorted to aggression against a brand new nation. How pitiful of a state they are in now. Karma got the best of them.

Still haven't closed the border? I have been watching this farce since 2005. Borders should have been closed after NATO invasion back in 2003 as precautionary. Wasting everybody's time here. Can't build a prosperous country with your doors wide open for violent madmen to come and go as they please.

Some people here talking about tribes. Yes nobody is stopping you practicing your tribal dances and customs and all that primitive crap and leave the borders to the army.

According to Durand line agreement, Pashtun tribesmen living within five miles of from line on each side could travel freely between British India (now Pakistan) and Afghanistan without showing any documents. There are tens of thousands of refugees from North Waziristan in Khost without any documents. Pakistan actually violated the Durand line treaty by building gates on the line.......any attempt of fencing and mining the border by Pakistan, will also be violation of Durand line agreements that took place in 1893 and was affirmed with some new details in 1905, 1921 and 1930.
if they even exist they were signed by British we r not legally binded to follow them is their any such b/w pak & afg after 47
