The Baloch still claim the land of Balochistan that is part of Afghanistan and the Chitrali claim is also their for parts of Afghanistan. It would be really very interesting to see if the reaction of local of these areas in Afghanistan. Referendum is the only logical solution to solve this issue.Then N.W.F.P and now KPK had joined Pakistan via referendum in 1947. Same was case with Baluchistan. Afghanis Pashtuns are more than welcome to conduct any referendum they want.
What is your solution to the problem?In 1879, a British officer mentions Bannu as "Afghan frontier". Why?. Because before 1893, the present-day FATA areas were part of Afghanistan. British would have left the FATA areas to Afghanistan but the hill tribes would make raids into plain areas, would lift cattle and rob people on their way and kill them upon resistance.Marauders and robbers of Waziristan
These tribes were not under control of Amir , were only nominally part of kingdom of Kabul. British in order to maintain peace in their areas (KPK), carried out several operations against hill tribes of present day FATA. Raiders became "Ghazis" with time and Mullah's led activities surfaced in hills, so British annexed present-day FATA, much to the displeasure of Amir of Kabul as these hill tribes were military assets for him in taking care of rebellions by Ghilzais and other tribes.
@haviZsultan
NWFP did become part of Pakistan through referendum , but no referendum was held in FATA and PATA. NWFP had nothing to do with Durand line treaty, they were conquered by Sikhs much earlier in early 19th century and were passed on to British when Sikh kingdom was conquered by British in 1848.
According to Durand line agreement, Pashtun tribesmen living within five miles of from line on each side could travel freely between British India (now Pakistan) and Afghanistan without showing any documents. There are tens of thousands of refugees from North Waziristan in Khost without any documents. Pakistan actually violated the Durand line treaty by building gates on the line.......any attempt of fencing and mining the border by Pakistan, will also be violation of Durand line agreements that took place in 1893 and was affirmed with some new details in 1905, 1921 and 1930.
They claim, but if you ask them to go with Afghanistan then they have big " No" on there face. All these people enjoying the modern age , they don't want to go back stone age....The Baloch still claim the land of Balochistan that is part of Afghanistan and the Chitrali claim is also their for parts of Afghanistan. Sir,i think you are wrong Kashmir is no longer in the UN dispute list.You can wipe your *** with Durand line treaty, stop living like the rest of afghans in the past. Go to UN if you have any reservations about the gates constructions. All the world conflicted regions are regsitered with UN just like Kashmir as it is recognised a disputed area and Durand line is not one of them.
I know you have copy pasted the urdu article from facebook. But let me tell you , that its mostly Pakistan who is guilty in the border clashes with Afghanistan, legally speaking. Even in Mohmand agency's clashes, Afghanistan's claims are valid.......Mohmand territory was divided between Afghanistan and British India in 1893 (Though Amir was not pleased with it and wanted entire Mohmand) . British occupied further Mohmand territory from Afghanistan in 1897's uprising, violating the original treaty itself....in the subsequent agreements, Afghanistan continued to demand return of occupied Mohamand territory but it were ignored. So a portion of the Mohmand agency of Pakistan, actually belongs to Afghanistan as per original treaty of 1893......British themselves were bastards, they refused to pay subsidies to Amir Habibullah (Abdul Rahman's son), telling him that 1893's treaty was a personal treaty between Amir and the British governament, so British wont pay subsidy to the new amir as Durand agreement is null and void. The new Amir had to renew Durand line agreement in 1905 with new details. The point is, British were simply occupying the Pashtun territory and did not stick to original agreement and the improvised Afghan monarchs needed subsidies......@a-team @Shapur @Sher Malang @Havi Sultan @A-TeamSeems its our turn to lay claims in Afghanistan. Each of their so called demand shud be met with counter claims of land in Afghanistan from our side and that is the way the paid Ashrafia on pay roll of Kabul as we name them Mr. Achakzai n Co and ANP would find damn hard even to survive as an entity.
