HİSAR-A + air defense missile system successfully completed the final acceptance test.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that the final acceptance test of the first indigenous and national air defense system Hisar-A + developed by ASELSAN and ROKETSAN was completed. The HİSAR-A + air defense missile system is described as the “magnified” version of Hisar-A. HİSAR-A + has more advanced capabilities in terms of range and altitude.
President Erdoğan said, “The most recent test was delayed for a few months. An embargo was imposed on a part that was normally supplied from abroad. What happened then? We made the indigenous part in a short time and integrated it into our missile and we reached the result. “
The final acceptance test of the HİSAR-A + air defense missile system, the first indigenous and national air defense missile system developed by ASELSAN and ROKETSAN in coordination with the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), was completed prior to entering the inventory.
On the other hand, SSB announced “The high-speed target aircraft was successfully hit at long range with the warhead developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE. # HİSAR A + is ready now. May it be fruitful!”

ROKETSAN Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Faruk Yiğit, in October 2020, stated that ROKETSAN produced proximity sensors with its own means, “Basically, what we have done is changing the structure of the proximity sensor (HSS used) we previously procured from abroad and started to produce it ourselves. Because in some areas, we should not be dependent on others in any way in order to use our products easily and you need to be as independent as possible. So essentially we are developing our own RF proximity sensor and we will use them in our final product and hopefully this will happen by the end of the year. “
HİSAR A + and O + will be also delivered
Stating that their range and capabilities were enhanced to A + and O + levels Prof. Dr. Yiğit said, “At first, we have further developed the requirements of the force, because in this process, your target set also improves its capabilities, so you should not lag behind. Therefore, we are planning to deliver the product with increased range and altitude as HİSAR-A +, not HİSAR-A, but at both HİSAR-A and HİSAR O. We no longer talk about HİSAR-A and HİSAR-O, we think of it as A + and O +, plus of course, we have works to fill the gaps before additional HİSAR-U (SİPER). ”
HİSAR-A In Mass Production Process
In May 2020 İsmail Demir said,
“We sent various units related to Hisar-O to the field. We can say that Hisar-O is on the field. The system is being placed. HİSAR-A is in the mass production process. “ İsmail Demir also stated that the number of HİSAR-A was reduced because of the need for Hisar-O rather than HİSAR-A, and HİSAR-A was transformed into HİSAR-O.
HİSAR-A
In order to fulfill critical zone air defense purposes, Low and Medium Altitude Air Defense Missile Systems will destruct threats at low-medium altitude.
Low Altitude Air Defense Missile System project includes development and production of two type of ground system, self-propelled armored and wheeled vehicle mounted air defense missile systems, and the missile.
Air defense missile system mounted on a self-propelled armored vehicle shall be fully autonomous by means of 3D radar, Electro-Optic system, command control and fire control. Another version on wheeled vehicle shall be a missile launcher connected to Fire Control Unit for fire and command control functions.

ASELSAN has developed an air defense concept providing an effective air defense that provides the operation of distributed sensor systems and weapon systems in coordination against the threats, which are continuously increasing with the growing technology.
Medium Range Air Defense Missile System composed of one battalion headquarters and headquarters company and three batteries, each of which has a sufficient amount of launchers, missiles, radars, command-control and communication systems and other support equipment.
