OPEN that thread, machaan! All will be made known.

I'll think about it, though normally I'm not really a "thread starter".

And what happened to your signature? It was from San guo yan yi as well, nice coincidence. :D

I'll keep that in mind. I was born in the hour of the Asura, and my first name in meat-space is the name of a famous Asura prince.

What is meat-space?

Anyway, when the Chinese characters don't make any sense, then it's usually a good guarantee that the word is a "phonetic" transliteration from another language. In this case it was an attempt to copy the sound of the original Sanskrit word, all those thousands of years ago.

.
Not sure exactly, but all these Chinese religious concepts certainly did originate from the Vedas at some point, and even the words themselves are clearly direct phonetic transliterations from Sanskrit.

Axiuluo for instance, the characters don't mean anything in Chinese. It was literally a Chinese monk trying to write down the sound of the Sanskrit word "Asura", probably several thousand years ago.
fyi.. asura what we indians consider evil forces.. is Ahura in cetnral asian regions which is a good force.
according to hindutva, hindu is a lisp of sindhu(indus) which means that ahura is a lisp for asura.
are we natural foes with central asian hordes?

.
Hindus would never destroy statues of Lord Buddha since we regard him as an avatar of lord vishnu

Its a hirtorical fact. Certain classes of Hindus felt threatened by Buddhism and did what they could to limit it

The old signature? It WASN'T a coincidence; it was carefully chosen!

Meat-space is a Usenet pun (now you know my age!) and means the real world, where you meet, errm, in the flesh, the meat. I know, not very funny.

They are pretty much the same thing in China, they are "demi-gods" on a higher plane, and they are troublemakers.

The concept is almost exactly the same.

If you leave Hindutva where it belongs, the split occurred in the Tajikistan/Turkmenistan region, where one side endorsed Ahura Mazda and scorned the Daiva, and the other side stuck to the Devas and thought the Asuras demonic in nature. Which is older is clear from the fact that several of the Vedic gods were originally described as Asuras, Varuna, for instance. There was a time when the Indo-Aryans and the Indo-Iranians worshipped the same gods.

Can the same topic be also discussed for other
religion , ain't discussion of religion leads to immediate ban in pdf ,why is there double standart for some
member of pdf ????

Dangerously speculative territory. No real proof. What next? The Rg veda too written in Central asia ?( as u know, that argument too has its takers) Varuna is also described as Deva in the Rg veda which lends it open to argument that the change in status of Asuras must have happened either during or just before its composition. The presence of the Bhrigus/Bhargavas also complicates matters as the great guru of the Asuras, Sukra, was one of them. They, after all are an important group going on to become the dominant priests in the post Rg vedic era.

Too much fog in the area that you are steering this argument towards.

If Indians were all Buddhists at least right before Islam arrived, we would had a good chance at resisting it better. But we had a bunch of narrow minded leaders. Can anyone here tell me how to defend caste to my Western counterparts? They go on and on about the Untouchabels and such.

Do you think there is any relation of the Sun worshipping Rajputs and the Parsis? They both worshipped fire. Just wondering

Buddhists generally accepted their elimination passively as a matter of fate, one prophesied by the Buddha himself (the 1500 years were up...).

Can you back that claim up? Buddhism in India needs a serious revival. Dalits and Untouchables should be abe to freely convert to Christianity and other religions if they wish to. Why do you Hindus dislike their conversion?

Please. We do not worship Fire.

We are not fire worshippers.

Fire has pretty much the same place within our faith as it does in Hindu ritualism.

Except the fundamental difference of us not cremating our dead.

I assumed the worship of the SUN involved fire?
