LAHORE : A group of 104 Hindu yatrees (pilgrims) arrived in Lahore through Wagah border on Sunday to participate in a ceremony to mark the 309th birth anniversary of Guru Saant Shadharam at Shadhani Darbar in Hayat Pitafi, Mirpur Mathelo, Sindh.

The pilgrims will stay in Pakistan for 10 days.

Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) officials received them at the Wagah crossing.

Speaking to reporters, ETPB Chairman Siddiqul Farooq said the people of Pakistan and India wanted cordial ties between the two neighbouring countries.

Issues hindering warm relations between the two countries must be addressed through talks at the earliest, he demanded.

Special security and transport arrangements have been made to facilitate the pilgrims.

250 Hindu pilgrims to arrive on 19th

Yogester Lal, the head of the delegation, said the yatrees were delighted to be in Pakistan, adding that they were representing 10 Indian states.

“We have brought a message of peace, love and harmony from India,” he said.

Indians have good sentiments for Pakistanis, he said and added that they never faced any problem in the country due to the government’s efforts.

“We wanted both governments to make arrangements to ensure ease for the people of both countries,” said Yogester.

They will return to India on November 30.

They are welcome, G Ayaan Noun until unless they don't have agenda to recruit Pakistani Hindus for R&AW.

come on in people, here no one will throw black paint on your face or lynch you for eating too much bhindi or issue daily threats of cutting you nose or arm or burn you alive.

Such engagements especially from Pakistan will improve its image. If Indians start traveling in great numbers, you can showcase that to international community to promote tourism. As long as these Hindus return back safely, such atmosphere will help bridge some of the broken bridge. But it will take a very long time to eliminate hatred from people's mind.

Will really take a combined effort by the entire nation to speak the language of love, if they need to get foreign investments & sports or cricket to come back to the country.

Small toddler steps but in good direction.

Nice gesture by Pakistan, but it will be a complete success only when they return safely back to India.
I don’t like travels due to religious obligations.

They have been doing so for years and have little issues.

Indian pilgrims talk about how they are better treated in Pakistan than they are in India.

Security is also provided by Pakistan army just in case. But there has been no incident so far.

Come on, be realistic.

India is a Hindu majority country. Pakistan is a Muslim majority country.

The Hindus from India just came to visit some Hindu sites, thats all.

Since when Pakistani temples become sooooo holy!

A common Hindu would not travel to Pakistan, they are special case!
