Hindu refugees blame 'Rohingya militants' for attacking them in Myanmar

The Great Lie 2: The conspiracy
Denied citizenship on spurious grounds, the Rohingya exist without nation and will little hope for a better future

The Great Lie is the claim put forth by the Myanmar Government that the military actions against the Rohingya are in response to the August 25 attacks of the ARSA on a number of police posts and army camps. The position that the violence involving the Rohingya was caused by these uprisings by an organization allegedly a Islamic fundamentalist group connected with ISIS or Al-Qaida is a fabrication put forth by the Myanmar authorities and repeated endlessly, accompanied by their allies in China and Russia joining in the chanting.

In this article I describe the conspiracy underlying the events in Myanmar of the past month. Years of abuse by the Myanmar army, the police, the Buddhist clergy, and the civil administration have left the Muslim Rohingya in poor condition. Most living in poverty with low levels of health, little access to education, scorned and looked down on by much of the Myanmar population, this group has been driven to bottom of Burmese society. Denied citizenship on spurious grounds, the Rohingya exist without nation and will little hope for a better future.

Many of the young men attempted to escape to Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia, usually by sea, seeking employment in Malaysia or Indonesia. This passage was dangerous and often ended in death from the cruel behavior of the Thai and Indonesia authorities. A recent trial in Thailand convicted a Thai general and many military persons of engaging in trafficking of people and murdering many Rohingya making their way to Malaysia and Indonesia.

The strategic objective of the Myanmar Government is to get rid of the Muslim Rohingya. They are prepared to do so by driving Rohingya out of the country into Bangladesh or by killing them. There have been various efforts to do so in the past few years; these efforts have increased in recent months. The generally accepted estimate is that at the beginning of 2017 there were about 1 million Rohingya in Myanmar in early 2017. [Reliable population data is not available].

At the time of writing there are about 500,000 Rohingya that have crossed the border into Bangladesh. Many attempting to reach Bangladesh have been killed, a process that continues. There are no reliable numbers of those killed or who have died from disease or starvation but it will run into many thousands. We make an estimate below of how many the Myanmar army may have slaughtered.

It is no surprise that many young men seeing the treatment of their families and the wickedness of the Myanmar Buddhists react by by fighting back. Most young Rohingya men want to draw their sword to protect their families, so the formation of groups to fight back is the natural response of this tortured population. One should not underestimate the Myanmar intelligence services. They are fully cognizant of the formation of resistance groups and undertake to penetrate and learn about the membership and activities of these Rohingya opposition groups.

What happened on August 25 this year was a sinister plot of the Myanmar Intelligence Service [I will call them MIS] under the guidance of the sinister, evil General Soe Htut. The Myanmar army was very upset that the Kofi Annan Commission Report on the Rakhine State would recommend actions towards restoring citizenship to the Rohingya and essentially argue for their legitimate presence in Myanmar. To misdirect the attention of the world, the ARSA infiltrated by and partly directed by the MIS encouraged attacks against police posts and an army post. Arms, tactical guidance and encouragement were provided by the MIS to an unwitting ARSA.

The attacks were coordinated with a counter propaganda campaign and military counterstrikes. Both occurred so rapidly as to reveal to any alert observer that the MIS had advanced warning of these attacks. But it was more than advanced warning, the MIS was behind these attacks. The scope and violence of the Myanmar army’s response is clear evidence that they were waiting for the August 25 ARSA attack. The date of the attack corresponded to the Kofi Annan report, strongly suggesting that the MIS controlled the timing.

The propaganda war launched by the Myanmar army then got into full gear. “Not only had these monsters attacked our police stations but now they were burning down their own villages.” The Myanmar army had to have some explanation of the burning of the villages as the view from space showed exactly what was going on. What better than to blame it on the Rohingya themselves. Foreign reporters were brought to Myanmar and fed this nonsense.

The Indian Government, the Chinese Government, and the Russian Government may or may not have known about the plot but all three fell into line supporting the Myanmar Government, trumpeting their opposition to Islamic sponsored violence and supporting the violent repression of the Rohingya. Innocents around the world joined in justifying the so called self defense measures of the poor Myanmar army attacked by these powerful, monstrous Muslim Rohingya.

The results are here for all to see, almost 500,000 people pushed out of their homes, their houses burnt down, their livestock killed, their possession destroyed or looted. The deaths of Rohingya will certainly total more than 100,000 if one could ever count. Preliminary reports show two characteristics: Most people interviewed report that at least one member of their family was killed while fleeing to Bangladesh. Allowing five persons per family, then for 100,000 families fleeing there should be 100,000 killed over the past month. Bangladeshis know all too well how many people can be killed by an army on the rampage against unarmed civilian populations. The second observation is the limited number of men in the masses of Rohingya that have come over the border.

A family of five would on the average have 3 adults and 2 children. So there are 1.5 adult males per family. If there is only 0.5 adult males per family that would mean about 50,000 adult males in the 500,000 and would be perceived as a shortage of men. Again this implies about 100,000 men killed. In this picture we have 200,000 children and 250,000 women.

Not only have the Rohingya been pushed out of their land, but there is a case that at least 100,000 have been killed; while many women and girls were raped. Most interviews report at least one woman or gir has been raped.

Hundreds of thousands of women and children have been driven into Bangladesh while this slaughter and rape took place in Myanmar. All of this was triggered by a plot of the Myanmar army to concoct an excuse to attack this unarmed population to kill and push them into Bangladesh.

This cruel vicious program has been cheered on by the Chinese, the Indians and the Russians. It is hard to come to terms with people so cruel and so callous.

All of these people continue to chant the Great Lie. How can Bangladesh perceive these three nations as friends of Bangladesh?

The expulsion and murder of the Rohingya are genocide. This expulsion is also equivalent to an act of war against Bangladesh. The Indian, Russian and Chinese Governments are complicit in this genocide and aggression against Bangladesh.

@Aung Zaya
I have few questions I was wondering if you could answer.

As a Burmese citizen could you give me your opinion on the key points and recommendation on the final report from the Advisory Commission on Rakhine State?

How do these Rohingya militants compare to the other militant groups in Myanmar?

Aside from Rohingya, are there any other ethnic minorities that are stateless like them?

the recommendation of the Advisory Commission is believed as best answer to solve this crisis. personally i agreed most of them except the fact which urge to revise our 1982 immigration law.

How do these Rohingya militants compare to the other militant groups in Myanmar?
much different. can be negotiated with our brother ethnic people. but not with Rohingya. these attack marked as foreign invasion.
Aside from Rohingya, are there any other ethnic minorities that are stateless like them?
in myanmar..? no.

but they are the ones who are complaining why not they join their happy Hindu brothers in Myanmar instead of living as refugees in some other country...
u need to clear that they run after the attack happened. their village is located not far from the borderline and hard to go inside due to ARSA attacks were happening. that's why they fled to BD. even in BD they lived in hindu villages near IDP camps in KUTUPALONG. not in IDP camps. UN already neglected them by not giving shelter nor food. do u think they lived peacefully and happily with so called rohingya bangali...? Nope.
read this. this article is taking refrence from AFP. and there is NO rohingya hindu. just hindu.

Hindu refugees from Rakhine find sanctuary in Bangladesh
Friday, September 22, 2017
Mail
By CLAIRE COZENS | AFP

KUTUPALONG, Bangladesh — In a small village in southern Bangladesh, hundreds of Hindu refugees from neighbouring Myanmar are being handed plates heaped with dal and rice, less than a mile from where desperate Rohingya refugees beg for food and shelter.

The contrast captures the sharp religious and ethnic divides that have only deepened since a convulsion of violence in Rakhine State unleashed a staggering refugee crisis.

The vast majority of those fleeing into Bangladesh are Rohingya, with more than 420,000 bolting from a campaign of violence that the United Nations has said amounts to "ethnic cleansing" — something denied by Myanmar’s military and government leaders.

Their arrival in less than a month has overwhelmed authorities and aid agencies, and many have received little or no official help since they arrived, leaving them without basic shelter, food and water.

A far smaller but still significant number of Buddhists and Hindus were also caught up in the communal violence, which erupted after Rohingya militants attacked police posts on August 25, triggering a ruthless military crackdown.

While most were displaced within Rakhine, an estimated 500 Hindus fled to Bangladesh, where they initially tried to find space in the overflowing camps dominated by Rohingya.

But communal tensions trailed them there, according to Hindu refugees who have since been given sanctuary by a local Hindu community nearby.

In the small Hindu village in Kutupalong they now call home, the refugees first described attacks on their homes in Rakhine that triggered their escape.

"They came in black and they covered their faces," said Niranjan Rudro, 50, who worked as a barber in Myanmar.

"In my village there were 70 Hindu families. They surrounded us for three days and we couldn't leave the house even to get food."

Many of the refugees told similar stories, although all are impossible for AFP to verify.

Some said they believed their attackers were from the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army, the Rohingya militant group behind the ambushes on police posts.

Since the latest eruption of violence, Rakhine's ethnic groups have traded rival accusations over who is to blame for the carnage, exacerbating long-running mistrust between the communities.

Rohingya refugees have blamed the army and ethnic Rakhine mobs for killings and arson attacks that have ripped through their communities, turning hundreds of villages into piles of ash.

Buddhist and Hindu groups, meanwhile, say they were terrorised by Rohingya militants whose raids on police posts tipped the region into crisis.

According to the Hindu refugees, tensions spilled into violence even after they arrived in Bangladesh.

Some said they were ostracised and attacked at the nearby Kutupalong camp, where they initially tried to cram in among the hundreds of thousands of newly arrived Rohingya refugees.

Three young men showed AFP bruises and scars that they said were inflicted by the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.

Puja Mollick, 18, said she came to Bangladesh after losing her parents and husband in the violence in Rakhine.

When she arrived in Kutupalong, men tried to force her into marriage against her will until she was rescued by an uncle.

But she and others have now found safety in the Hindu village less than a mile from the Kutupalong camp.

Local families have taken in around 200, while another 300 are crammed into a basic shelter nearby.

All receive regular meals, paid for mainly by donations from local Hindus.

"We heard that Hindu people were here in Bangladesh, camping out in the forests. So we went to find them and brought them here," community leader Shapon Sharma told AFP.

"We reached out to Hindu communities... all over Bangladesh to arrange for food and shelter for them."

Twenty years after peace accord, indigenous Bangladeshis still attacked over land

MANIKJOR CHHORA, Bangladesh (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - Ripon Chakma’s octogenarian parents were visiting the village of Manikjor Chhora in the southeast of Bangladesh for a religious ceremony when the arson attack took place in early June.

Chakma’s parents survived, but an elderly neighbor, Gunamala Chakma, succumbed to the flames that engulfed her mud-walled home.

Police said settler Bengalis - the majority ethnic group - set light to more than 200 homes and shops of the indigenous Pahari people in the Longadu area of Rangamati, one of three districts that comprise the Chittagong Hill Tracts region, where most of Bangladesh’s ethnic minorities live.

The attack came after the body of a Bengali was found near Dighinala road in neighboring Khagrachari district, according to police. The Bengali settlers accused the mountain-dwelling Pahari community of the killing.

The Paharis deny the accusation, and say the arson attacks were pre-planned and mask a more sinister motive of driving the them from their fertile uplands - sought-after land in densely populated and low-lying Bangladesh.

“This is all staged drama,” said Ripon Chakma, executive director of Trinamul, a local non-profit group that works for the rights of the Pahari community.

“These attacks are happening to grab the land. Otherwise, why would they burn houses in Longadu for a death in Dighinala?”

VIOLENT CONFLICT
The Chittagong Hill Tracts region of Bangladesh, which shares borders with India and Myanmar, spans just over 13,000 sq km (5,000 sq miles), and is home to about half a million Paharis from nearly a dozen indigenous groups.

The lush region, in the country’s southeast, is rich in natural resources, particularly timber and bamboo. Possibilities for oil exploration have also been identified.

The region has been the site of violent ethnic conflict for decades, which has displaced tens of thousands of indigenous people. The lands they vacated were occupied by Bengali settlers.

Activists say the government has failed to honor an agreement signed 20 years ago to restore their lands in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, which were declared a protected area under colonial rule.

After the partition of the Indian subcontinent, the special provisions for the indigenous population were diluted.

Following an armed conflict, the Bangladesh government agreed to the Chittagong Hill Tracts peace accord in December 1997 that promised a measure of autonomy to the Pahari people, and gave them economic, social and political rights.

The government promised to undertake development for their economic empowerment, while allowing them to keep their cultural practices, including communal ownership of land.

Displaced Paharis were to be rehabilitated with land and housing, and a land commission was to resolve land disputes.
A home of an indigenous Chakma that was torched in an arson attack in Longadu, Rangamati district, Bangladesh. June 3, 2017. Handout pic: Anvil Chakma
But the commitments were not kept and disputes over land remain resolved, activists say.

“There was a hope for change when the peace accord came into being, but it got entrapped in politics,” said Meghna Guhathakurta, head of think tank Research Initiatives, Bangladesh.

“The government must empower the Paharis through education and pave the way for their political empowerment. The Paharis also need to lobby for themselves,” she said.

RESPECT RIGHTS
The government has cordoned off areas of the region for development projects including a hydroelectric project that flooded vast swathes of cultivable land and displaced thousands.

Activists say the government did not seek the consent of the Pahari people before taking their traditional lands.
Nor were the displaced people adequately compensated or rehabilitated.

Amnesty International has called for the government to respect the rights of the Pahari people, including over their land and ensure the land commission functions with the participation of the community.

There must be legal recognition of the collective rights of the Paharis to their traditional lands and remedies for anyone whose land was taken without their consent, it said in a report.

A senior local government official who declined to be named said both Bengalis and Paharis had been living in the Chittagong hills for centuries.

“So, they (the Pahari people) cannot claim that the land is the absolute area of their own, because the Bengalis living there can say that as well,” the official said.

He said indigenous people were well represented on the Land Commission. “The setting up of such an institution is in itself a step toward upholding the peace accord, so it is unfair to say the treaty has not been implemented,” he added.

As for the arson attack in Longadu, the high court last month gave the government eight weeks to explain why it had not investigated the matter and found the perpetrators.

But the Pahari people are not hopeful of a positive outcome.

“This was a communal attack against Paharis,” said Yan Yan, queen of the Chakma indigenous community.

“Until the people’s land rights issues are addressed, the houses of Paharis will keep burning,” she said.

NO, cz intl media is sane enough not to give a Shit about indian propoganda

Burmese junta and and bharati sanghi media are desperate to demonize the Rohingya people so that they can carry out their ethnic cleansing smoothly without much international criticism. We have seen earlier, how Rakhine militia and some hindu collaborators burned down houses and blamed Rohingya muslim for it. It doesn't make any sense that ARSA will target their own tiny Hindu community instead of Rakhine Bhuddist or burmese oppressor. The black masked group who killed those Hindus are Buddhist Rakhine militia. They wanted to kill two birds in single shot.Clear the Rohingya hindus along with muslims and then shift the blame of their own killing on ARSA to prove them as mindless barbarian to international audience.

Are the above Hindus. Rohangya Muslims should have killed these people in the first place. Then this plight would not have occurred. You don't do anything when such thing happen with in your families & when you are targeted, you come & talk about Human Rights & barbarism. Should we give refuge to such people. How do we know who is coming in.

There are no rohingya in Myanmar.

They are Bengalis illegally migrated from the poorest country where 50 million people living below poverty line.

They are Bengalis illegally migrated from the world's most densely populated country.

They are Bengalis illegally migrated from the country which grows 1.6 million people every year.

They are Bengalis illegally migrated from the country whose GDP is 3.5 time larger than Myanmar but population is 3.5 times higher and total land area is 5 times smaller.

They illegally migrated into Myanmar
. . because they have no land to grow rice in their motherland.
. . because their govrnment could not able to feed its own people.

Hindu refugees have pointed the finger at Rohingya militants for attacking them in Myanmar when the ethnic minority Rohingyas blame the country's army for killings, rapes, arsons and lootings.
Around 500 Hindus have crossed the border into Bangladesh along with over 436,000 Rohingya Muslims after fleeing conflicts in Buddhist-majority Myanmar's Rakhine State since an army crackdown triggered by insurgent attacks on security forces on Aug 25.

The Hindu refugees have taken shelter beside two temples at Ukhia in Cox's Bazar near the refugee camps for Rohingyas at Kutupalong.

On Saturday, police recovered the body of a Hindu refugee at a canal in the area. The Hindus alleged Rohingyas murdered the man following a dispute over money the Muslims took as loan back home in Myanmar.

Earlier, before this incident, several Hindu refugees told bdnews24.com that Rohingya militants, not army, had attacked them in Myanmar during the conflict.

At least 10 Hindus described the attackers as 'Kala Party', who covered their face with black clothes and used Rohingya language along with Burmese and Rakhine.

A Hindu victim of the conflict, requesting anonymity for safety, said, "The Burmese usually don’t know the Rohingya language. Though the attackers covered their face with dark clothes, they seemed to be Rohingyas."

A young Hindu man, who had arrived in Bangladesh before the conflict, heard about the death of his parents, sister and a nephew during the fighting.

He said his neighbours in Myanmar told him that they came under attack by Rohingya militants.

He also said he was afraid to return home in Maungdaw's Sabbazar.

"I don't know whether all the Rohingyas have crossed the border into Bangladesh," he said, expressing fear of further attack by the remaining Rohingyas in Myanmar.

An elderly Hindu man from Chikanchharhi in Rakhine said, "A terrorist group has entered Rakhine. They demand that the government recognise the Rohingyas. These terrorists tortured us."

"I said we are Hindus and we cannot call ourselves Rohingyas.

"The terrorists confined 50 to 60 people of our Parha (a part of a village) for six to seven days. We didn't even have water to drink. We fled when the fighting started after a week," he said.

"We saw from a hill that our houses were burnt," he added.

Another Hindu man said, "No one cared about the Hindus there when the fighting erupted between those two sides."

Bangladesh has condemned Myanmar for the violent persecution of Rohingyas and called for taking the refugees back.

Fear of deterioration of law and order situation has risen in Bangladesh along with the increase in the number of refugees.

Many also suspect that Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army, which claimed credit for the Aug 25 attacks, has links with international terrorist groups.

EXCLUSIVE: '300 Rohingyas kidnapped 100 Hindus, killed 92 of them on August 25'
Updated: Sep 25, 2017 | 20:57 IST | Times Now Digital

New Delhi: In a stunning disclosure, it has been revealed that 300 Rohingyas abducted 100 Hindus on August 25 and eliminated 92 of them.

Eight people who survived the assassination were all women, who later got converted to Islam.

They were then taken to Bangladesh, said the Myanmar State Councillor Information Office.

The revelation comes a day after the Myanmar's Army discovered two mud pits filled with 28 Hindu corpses, including women and children, outside a village in northern Rakhine.

As per the Army, it was the evidence of a massacre by Rohingya Muslim militants.

Speaking to Times Now, several Hindu refugees who survived have recounted that they were threatened and abused by Rohingya militants and forced to convert.

“We fled here after Rohingya terrorists came to attack us with swords, spears, sticks and guns. They burned our houses and farms. There were hundreds of them, from teenagers to men in their mid-30s. They said 'this is an Islamic state'. They shouted 'Rakhine state is our Rohingya state.’ We told them Rakhine state is not theirs. They said they would kill Hindus and we saw them do it. We fled when they set fire to our houses,” said a resident of Rakhine.

He claimed that more than 30 Hindus were missing and that they recovered 8 Hindu bodies.

On Monday, graves of 17 more Hindus were found.

"They came wearing masks. Couldn't see anything but their eyes. They captured us. They had guns, axes, knives. They hacked my family members to death. They forcefully converted us to Islam. They hacked my husband, sister-in-law, and her son to death," another woman, who managed to escape, told Times Now.

The Rohingya militants have problems with the Myanmar Army as well as the common men who inhabit the Rakhine state. They are torturing and evicting Hindu Rohingyas from the land. Hindu families are brutally butchered and shot,” a Bangladeshi aid worker stated.

Northern Rakhine was plunged into crisis after Rohingya militants raided police posts last month, unleashing an Army crackdown that has displaced hundreds of thousands of civilians.

The vast majority -- more than 430,000 -- are Rohingya Muslims who fled across the border to Bangladesh from a military campaign the UN says likely amounts to ethnic cleansing.

But tens of thousands of ethnic Rakhine Buddhists and the region's small population of Hindus have also been internally displaced, saying they were attacked by Rohingya militants.

The focal point of the unrest, northern Rakhine's Maungdaw district, was once home to a fragile mosaic of ethnic groups, dominated by the Rohingya.

Vast swathes of the border region are now completely emptied of Muslims residents, with nearly 40 percent of Rohingya villages abandoned in under a month.

On Sunday, the UN's High Commissioner for Refugees called the influx of Rohingya into Bangladesh the "fastest and most urgent refugee emergency in the world".

Hey Burmi!!!!

You Can Come Up With As Much BS As You Want

We were first taken to a small school in Maungdaw, now crowded with displaced Hindu families. They all had the same story to tell of Muslims attacking, of fleeing in fear. Oddly, Hindus who have fled to Bangladesh all say they were attacked by local Rakhine Buddhists, because they resemble Rohingyas.

In the school we were accompanied by armed police and officials. Could they speak freely? One man started to tell me how soldiers had been firing at his village, and he was quickly corrected by a neighbour.

A woman in an orange, lacy blouse and distinctive grey and mauve longyi was especially animated about the abuses by Muslims.

We were then taken to a Buddhist temple, where a monk described Muslims burning down their own homes, nearby. We were given photographs catching them in the act. They looked strange.

Men in white haji caps posed as they set light to the palm-thatch roof. Women wearing what appeared to be lacy tablecloths on their heads melodramatically waved swords and machetes. Later I found that one of the women was in fact the animated Hindu woman from the school, and I saw that one of the men had also been present in among the displaced Hindu.

They had faked the photos to make it look as though Muslims were doing the burning.

3.5X GDP will soon turn into military dominance
and then Myanmar will be made to kneel.
Are you keeping an eye on BD's massive military buildup currently going on?
