Hindu Mythology cartoons maybe banned in Pakistan

Okay, perhaps it was unfair to generalize after watching a movie. However, because the poster I was replying to did attack Islam first, I want to just add that a lot of females are killed in India while still in their mother's womb... while this is not a Hindu teaching, shouldn't Govt ban this? A few decades ago Govt outlawed multiple wives from Hindu teachings even though there is a logical reason for polygamy (which I have provided there). However, infanticide and feticide is increasing due to the rapid progress of urbanization because of abortion technology. Sometimes, a country urbanizes but leaves good values behind.

In India, believe it or not, Hindus are not allowed multiple wives but Muslims are. This has always been the case. Gender-selective abortions and foeticide is, I would say, one of the biggest challenges that India faces right now, particularly in the North. Interestingly, it is the same case with China.

I agree that urbanization has contributed to it.....the status of women needs to change, period...but there are a lot of good government initiatives that are acting on this.

BTW, it's awesome to interact with balanced and yet so young posters like you.

Keep it up, bro:cheers:

If you teach them None other god exist than "Allah" then are not you blinding them with only one faith exist in the world? Are they not going to learn that this world is full of other faiths as well?

Her point is kids should not be allowed to be exposed to other religion other than parent's religion by cartoons.

Once the child has been indoctrinated by parents and society and becomes a hardcore religious person, then they can be told about other religions and how bad they are:D

.
you didnt get it.

its illegal to determine whether the fetus is a female or a male. so you may have an abortion but you are not allowed to have an abortion because of the gender of the fetus.

. .
That hindu mythology has given India the likes of Saffron brigade so please do not tell me that teaching your religion will make Pakistani people sane please do apply it in your own country if it succeeded then you can present it an example so far i dont see any sanity keeping in mind many incident of barbarism based on religion in your land.
Hindu mythology has not given rise to saffron brigade.I won't become anti Muslim or anti Christian just by watching Ramayana or Mahabharata on the TV.

Yes, I know. Muslims in India are governed by the Sharia law- however, Hinduism does permit multiple marriages however the Govt has banned this. This is probably because there are more men than women in India right now.

A fatwa against Mickey Mouse - Israel News, Ynetnews

Fatwa = a law passed on by a group of highly intellectual religious scholars! This is not a fatwa.

And who is to say watching the antics of an animated warrior monkey does not constitute a lighter moment.

Dont tell me if we makes fun of this warrior of yours, you will not be offended. Please keep the religion out of fun part its not a fun everyone knows that including you.

You are flair up here because its going to block a medium of hindu preaching in Pakistan.

What about your favourite cartoon characters Tom & Jerry celebrating Christmas & the like? Would you consider that religious indoctrination too?

Tom and Jerry can celebrate Dewali and holi and eid too once in a year or twice. You can also show your Hindu festivals we have no issue with that. Festivals and regular worshiping two different things.

We have been showing these festivals

Please take it up with Saudia not Pakistan.

We are talking about Pakistan and we do not want Indian crap cartoons for our kids simple as that

1. The question of weak and strong was brought by your wise Indian member here.

2. Surely if the kids asks his parents why we do not worship hanuman or ganesh or if snakes do not bite us and they can be friendly to us by worshiping then can he/she holds the snake as been shown by Hindu mythology. SO what do you think what the parents will tell them ?? other than the difference betwene Idol worshiping and Islam.

Not a good idea to promote any religion through cartoons to small kids. SIMPLE

I have a question of you, Jana.

If you were on a tour of Rome with your family, which includes kids, would you visit the Vatican? Would you go to see the Sistine Chapel? Would you see Michelangelo's Pieta in St.Peter's Basilica? Would you allow kids to see these too, or would you cover their eyes or leave them behind in the hotel?

If you visited Rio de Janerio, would you go to see Corcovado which is a huge statue of Jesus on a mountain? It is the experience of a lifetime.

If you did these things and learned about them and let your kids learn about them, Would they be corrupted? I know that this is not the same as a cartoon based on Hanuman, but there are a lot of commonalities in the two. They are related to RECREATION, ENTERTAINMENT and EXPOSURE and they have to do with a religion different from your own. Your provincial mindset will not allow you to see otherwise- this is, pardon my saying so, a "Kuan ka mendhak" policy that is not going to help Pakistanis in the long run or even the short run.

My point is Kids should NOT be exposed to any religion/us enforcement through cartoons. cartoons are for entertainment why to fill head of a small kid of 4 years with religious cartoons.

 just like the hindu children indoctrinated about many myths and superstitions. Not a good thing even educated ones are believing in warding off evils through funny superstitions.

No point in arguing with her anymore.

@Jana
Can you name some cartoon shows for me which does not have an implicit or explicit reference to any religion?

I know Jana will answer this, but I want to put my opinion in too.

Whenever we saw an icon of Prophet Jesus (used to live in Australia as a child), my father told me what the Christians believe and what we as Muslims believe (i.e. christians take him as a son of God while we say he is a Prophet if God. He also reasoned). Hindu cartoons do not tell kids why we don't follow Hinduism nor do they tell our kids what we as Muslims think. Infact, these cartoons show Hinduism in a way that is appealing to kids. It's just not the same

That is why I say it should be against law to teach children about any religion till they are age 18.

At that point they can decide whatever religion they choose.

I am sure Jana jee would agree to that proposal, right?;)

It is evil, poisoning minds of little impressionable children :D

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh i think I get it now.
So a cartoon of Baby Jesus would be OK as Christianity is an Abrahamic faith, but Hinduism is not OK as is is a Pagan religion. Right?
