That's hardly our problem; they either learn to live with their Masters or create a country for their own/cede their regions to Pakistan. We can't double our population with that little piece of land we have; not to mention Kashmir is also occupied currently.

There is divide. It is not out in the open but simmering beneath. But it's to be expected. We are a new nation; we have decades/centuries to grow. National bonds are not created overnight. With time such differences would gradually disappear. At least in my place I can say that among people of my generation such differences are less than it was for previous generation. There was segregation between the communities before and that only aggravated during the partition. With the new generation the interaction between the two communities has increased and they have come closer. As generation changes it would only increase and people would come closer. But I hate to say this but as far as my experience goes, the Hindu community is less inclined to form closer ties with muslims than the other way around.

What will happen is that people will relate to each other as individuals, rather than going by communal identities.

Yes you are right. It is happening right now, though at smaller scale. It would only increase with time. I at least do have hope

Thank God Almighty, for Pakistan. Now Indians response would be 'Muslims killing Muslims in Pakistan'. Well, We all know, who is sponsoring de-stabilization in Pakistan and for Very known reasons. Wish you could back your talks with logic.But nobody is fool to expect it from you. We have sikh PM, Christian defence minister, muslim vice president, muslim scientist who heads our nuclear program, Parsi Industrial gaints like Tata, Birla & Bajaj


About just muslim....We have muslims as biggest minority in our country....Azeem Premji, APJ Kalaam, SRK, Salman Khan,Amir Khan; Nawab Pataudi; Zaheer Khan and many more are heart throb & idol of Nation ....

On other hand, Minorities in pakistan are vanishing in every decade...Can you name some greats from non-muslim minority from your nation? If yes, then we will think you have right to talk about communal discrimination in other nation ....if not better shut off !!

Let's just say 65 years is very less compared to events spanning a time period of more than 700 years. Give it some time , re-conciliatory actions and more importantly a good leadership for both communities.

Though drawing upon your experience I would like to extend that by saying the 'hesitation', as you put, only increased from the later 90s an was not so pronounced before that.

Anyway IMO, there is no need for each to treat others as brothers immediately. If both of them could atleast maintain the existing peace and contribute in their own ways to the nation as Indians, that would be more than sufficient.
