'Hindi Theriyathu Poda' T-shirts set Tamil Twitter on fire

Keep alienating yourselves Tamils 😂 :yahoo:

All the better for Sri Lanka.

Your objects of hatred grow bigger everday. Tamils are united only by their hatred for the "other." If not, they would be killing each over caste.

PS Hindi is a much, much, much, much nicer language than Tamil.

.
Tamils in Sri Lanka nowadays learn Sinhalese. I met many Tamils who speak native level Sinhalese.

Why tamils are resisting this? Why, just why? Hindi is a union language. And if it is added on sigh boards to help visitors, what's the issue.

Hindi is language of about 40 percent of indians. Imposing it on rest of india is like imposing Punjabi on entire pakistan. will pakistan accept it ? urdu in pakistan is like english in india. IF they stick to english it will be fine as it is equal burden/benefit on everyone.

IF you despise them so much the only right thing to do is to give them their own country.

Hindi/Urdu is spoken and understood by around 65-70 % of the Indian population if you take the number of second and third language speakers into consideration.

Don't daydream about finding allies in Maharashtra, Punjab , Bengal to form some United Anti-Hindi opposition on countrywide basis. Hindi has already made inroads in those states which cannot be undone and it will continue to grow in Tamil Land as well with growing migration and influence of Bollywood.

Irrespective of fantasies it still does not make it fair. You cannot impose one language on another people while taxing the victim group actually more. Typical indian response which never thinks of right or wrong - just a grabby mentality of take/occupy whatever you can.

You are mistaking Kerala for Tamilnadu. Kerala govt and people are known for pampering and assimilating with migrants since ancient times.

In Tamilnadu northie migrants assimilate with locals and adopt local Tamil culture. Prime e.g Northie DJ Priyanka Despande, actors Kushboo , Jothika , SS Rajnikant, BJP hanchos H Raja and Rangaraj Pandey etc

Btw no Tamil watches bollywood movies which are cheap Tamil remakes or hear recycled bolly Tamil songs.

They already have a country. Its called TAMIL NADU which literally means "Tamil Country" in the Tamil language.

They don't get to steal other people's land and claim it as theirs.

Four t-shirts with strong words. Two celebrities. And a powerful message against “Hindi imposition” in Tamil Nadu.

A picture of popular music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja and a young actor, ‘Metro’ Shirish, wearing designer t-shirts that say they are Tamil-speaking Indians and do not know Hindi has set the Tamil Twitter on fire.

Raja, an accomplished composer himself, and son of legendary music director Ilaiyaraaja, wearing a t-shirt with an image of poet-saint Thiruvalluvar and “I am a Tamizh pesum Indian” printed on it is listening to Shirish whose t-shirt says Hindi Theriyadhu Poda (I do not know Hindi Go man). This picture with a caption “deep in discussion, good things coming our way...!” posted by Shirish at 5.37 pm on Saturday set off a frenzied action on Twitter with appreciation pouring in from various quarters for the celebrities and the design, which many say is the brain-child of a DMK leader, for the “strong message.”

Soon, one of the popular verses used on the t-shirts, Hindu Theriyathu Poda, was converted into a hashtag in both Tamil and English along with #TamilSpeaking Indian that trended for the whole of Sunday. #HindiTheriyathuPoda had over 1.75 lakh mentions on Twitter at the time of writing.
As a retaliatory action, another hashtag, DMK Venam Poda (No need for DMK. Go man), was also trended on Twitter on Sunday afternoon with over 37,000 mentions. The BJP also took objection to the t-shirts and trending of anti-Hindi hashtags on Twitter, accusing the DMK of being behind the move.

Well to be frank I can understand your frustration.
