Any English professor here? Or anyone excelling in English? I have a query which requires deep knowledge of English.

Okay here is the question. Suppose somebody goes to restaurant or cyber café or simply office. He keeps the belongings, like say umbrella, on the table presuming that he will remember to take it when he leaves the place. But while exiting he forgets to take it back. There is a specific word for this. What is this act of keeping something at the place you visit and then forgetting about it called?

More examples. Someone forgets things like book etc at friends/relatives house and hence fails to retrieve it atleast till he remembers it again. School kids forget tiffin box or water bottle or geometry box in school.

There is an English word dedicated solely to such situation. What is that?

I checked the net. This word exists but it does not have the meaning I am referring to.
I know...this word is just a fancy way of saying silicosis. I could not figure out the word you wanted so I gave you this one...just use it...nobody will know any better :)
