Mercenary, the job of a nation's military planners is to assess the danger from declared enemies according their military capability. Hezbollah has redoubts, infantry weapons, missiles from RPG's to blockbuster-tipped IRBMs, and integrated command-and-control, all independent from the Lebanese army and government. Al-Q has none of these things: when an Al Qaeda affiliate attempted to create a redoubt in Lebanon a few years ago Hezbollah stood aside as the Lebanese military destroyed it.

Both ideologies and groups pose a threat to Israel - but Iran has purposely stationed their proxy army on Israel's border in the north. They have financed and armed Hamas and Islamic Jihad in the south. They are trying to make inroads in the 'west bank' (Judea & Samaria) and for a brief moment, were in bed with Morsi in Egypt.

So it's quite obvious what Iran is trying to achieve. A surrounding of Israel by their proxies and subsidiaries - which makes them and Hezbollah the #1 threat, as 'Al Qaeda' is not organised enough.

Perhaps Israel should start forming militia made up of disgruntled Kurds, Iranian Arab Sunnis and other minorities to squat on Iran's border and pose a threat to them.

Absolutely not, because the whole point of the idea of the Jewish homeland going back a few decades before the holocaust was to seize what they call 'Judea and Samaria' which is the Palestinian West Bank territory. It has zilch to do with wars.

There were no nations back then, everything then was composed of empires yet people gained independence and that's what we call nations today. Everyone knows the Ottoman Empire controlled a portion of the Middle East and elsewhere there were other empires. Only after WW2 did empires become divided and separate nations were created. The British were supposed to give independence to the Palestinians but they lied and had a plan the whole way to declare a Jewish state in Palestinian land. So yet again, you make no point at all and neither does it justify Israel's occupation or existence. Israel never existed then either.

Again, nobody cares what Jews had or didn't have 4,500 years ago. The last few thousand years that land was no longer Jewish and the last few centuries Palestinians have been the original most recent inhabitants of the land. You're attempts at justifying your right to the land are meaningless. They have no basis in international law. That's special pleading if you believe Jews are entitled to usurp Palestinian land based off the past. We would have many cases like that today if we went by your logic, yet Jews are the only people who get away with such. Even if we went by that logic the Canaanites were there thousands of years before Jews and in Jerusalem and the West Bank. This has nothing to do with Islam.
