What's new

Here's what the Kaaba looks like from inside

But if I have to see it from neutral POV then I will first see whether anything that predates Quran or Islam talks abt their journey to Kaaba let alone Adam or Abram building Kaaba.

The Jewish scriptures predate Quran.

I don't know about Abraham, but the Jewish scriptures support the fact that Ishmael grew up in the wilderness/desert of Paran (modern Hijaz). Hijaz was the home of Ishmaelite tribes and it is very likely that any ancient religious structure in Hijaz was most likely a place of worship built by the Ishmaelites.

:smokin:Let us stop here. The pious Muslimeen's will be tested by the evil forces to commit Shirk and Biddat if we continue our discussion on the stone. Phull ishtop here.
Biddat and shirk? Are you Muslim?

.
They might be descendants and monotheists. My point was that Adam and Abram might not have constructed Kaaba or might not have even travelled to Mecca. Stories might have been attached to this place as Adam, Abraham were popular mythological or cultural or religious figures.
It is a religious thing for you so you believe that Adam constructed Kaaba. But if I have to see it from neutral POV then I will first see whether anything that predates Quran or Islam talks abt their journey to Kaaba let alone Adam or Abram building Kaaba.

Without Prophet Abraham (PBUH), there is no Judaism/Christianity, and no Islam. Meaning no Hebrew and no Arab populations. That means empty middle east that is staring at our faces. No Prophet Abraham (PBUH), no Middle East. :D

Prophet Adam (PBUH) did build Kaaba but that was destroyed under the era of Prophet Noah (PBUH). It is no point discussing about what happened before the era of Prophet Noah (PBUH).

Haha, I have no religious interest in this website. I am here for fun.

It is okay. There is nothing wrong in learning and gaining curiosity. Without curiosity, life is boring. :D

.
You know its an old building when it has too many pillars inside.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was sent as a final mercy for the Jews after they tried killing the messiah. The test was to accept him as the final messenger of Allah. If the Jews passed the test, the door to mercy was opened to them. If not they have sealed their fate and will share the same fate as firoun. He accepted in his last seconds that he is not a God and believed in the God of Musa (pbuh). Likewise, the Jews will die realising that Prophet Isa (pbuh) is indeed the true messiah. It's history repeating itself and its happening before our eyes without many realising.

Now back to Medina, the prophet did many things to convince the Jews that he was indeed a prophet of God.

1) he fasted with them, when they fasted.

2)He prayed in the direction of Jerusalem.

3) the Jews tested him. They brought in front of him a women who committed adultery. They asked him what they should do with her as punishment. The prophet (pbuh) said to do what it says in the Torah for the punishment. The punishment was stoning to death which the Jews weren't enforcing themselves. Note he enforced JEWISH LAWS IN JEWS. To hide they're shame they covered the verse on the Torah with their fingers (remember the prophet was illiterate). But someone who was assisting (I forgot his name) the prophet told them to remove their fingers.

Once it was clear that the Jews rejected him the door to mercy was closed and note that it is at this time that the Qibla changed from Jerusalem to the Kaaba.

. .
Which was destroyed during the era of Prophet Noah (PBUH)? The Kaaba that is built by Prophet Adam (PBUH) is not the one we see in Makkah. That was destroyed during the era of Prophet Noah (PBUH).

The one we see, Monotheism Makkah, is built by bare hands of Prophet Ibrahim and his elder son, Ishmail (PBUTA). Then, revived by the family lineage, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) after Makkah was filled with idols after civilizations from all kind of tribes settled in Makkah later.

You have to look at the regions. Judaism and Christianity appeared in the most populated regions like Jerusalem, Egypt, and more in the middle. Many Prophets were sent there. That was the generation of Prophet Isaac (PBUH), second son of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH). Judaism and Christianity recorded only Prophet Isaac and more Prophets that came afterward like many Prophets; Prophet Moses and his brother, Harun, Jesus [son of Virgin Mother Mary (R.A)], David and his son Suleiman, Zecharia and his son John, from the family lineage of Prophet Ibrahim and his second son, Isaac (PBUTA) in those populated regions that were not barren, and water everywhere. That's why the information on Prophet Ishmail (PBUH) is limited since he emigrated to Arab side, not Jerusalem/Egypt/somewhere close.

Whereas after Prophet Ishmail (PBUH), his family lineage aka Ishmailites tribes carried on. No Prophet was sent after Ishmail (PBUH) until Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in Arab regions. In the barren land with no water stream and no sign of civilization, only two Prophets were sent there; Prophet Ishmail and Prophet Muhammad from the family lineage of Prophet Ishmail (PBUTA). Hence not much to discuss though.

The bottom line is that you have two sons of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUTA). One that emigrated to Jewish dominated regions hence Judaism, Christianity,...etc. One that emigrated to Arab lands, hence Ishmailites tribes [Monotheism] and Islam. Of course, no mention of Prophet Ishmail (PBUH) who emigrated to Arab regions , not Jewish dominated regions.

Yes, I agree. What I was saying was that Kaaba was built before Prophet Ibrahim AS built the Kaaba.

Yes, I agree. What I was saying was that Kaaba was built before Prophet Ibrahim AS built the Kaaba.

The Kaaba that was built by Prophet Adam (PBUH) is no longer relevant anymore. That was gone, destroyed along with the mass civilizations who didn't acknowledge THE MIGHTY ALLAH, A TRUE CREATOR.

The one we see is built by bare hands of Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ishmail (PBUTA), and still here. What we follow are Abrahamaic faiths consisting of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Hence, the dedication to the family of Ibrahim and the family of Muhammad (PBUTA) in Durood Sharif which can be found in the Sunnah/Authentic Hadiths.

Just a building. Nothing more.
its true purpose is to serve as a united direction to pray in . It can be levelled to the ground(as it has over the years) and it still will have the same focal point.

It was narrated from Aisha that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to her:

“O Aishah, were if not for the fact that your people have recently left Jahiliyyah (age of ignorance), I would have commanded that the House be knocked down, and I would have incorporated into it what was left out of it. I would have made its (door) in level with the ground and I would have given it two doors, an eastern door and a western door. For they built it too small, and by doing this, it would have been built on the foundation of Ibrahim, peace be upon him.” He (one of the narrators) said: “This is what motivated Ibn Az-Zubair to knock it down.” Yazid said: “I saw Ibn Az-Zubair when he knocked it down and rebuilt it, and included part of the Hijr in it. And I saw the foundation of Ibrahim, peace be upon him, stones like the humps of camels joined to one another.”

That it is, but to counter the narrative of people both outside of Islam who see some crusade in Knocking the Kaaba down and to those that build models of it out of Styrofoam and do processions with it.
The kaaba is a jehat-e-jama at its core purpose. A common convergence point, the worship of the one true supreme being; that has always been the idea that ended up being distorted by man into idolatry and other ideals.

Beyond that, the Kaaba is just a symbol to some or everything to us. We have taken it as Allah's property to care for as he ordained for it. So when we hear of threats against it, we should be completely stoic about it and not care at all. Whose house it is, he will take care of it eventually.

Our duty is to Medina and its care.

Sad but funny story, near the Soan River crossing in Pindi.. there used to be a procession by some poor illiterate people(not their fault and one cannot fault their innocent intentions) led by some new cultist with models of the Kaaba and Medina.. then a gust of wind came up and the models went flying.. in a rather aerodynamic fashion with all these people chasing after it for a good 5 minutes or so as the narrow crossing and canyon-isque landscape there created airflows that kept them flying in the air.

Right there I realised the condition of Modern Muslims; not understanding the true meaning of adoration and respect for Allah and his messenger(and his companions and the many righteous men that came after them) but trying their best to use various ideals and rituals to remember them.. yet at the end.. their wish of finding Allah(Kaaba) and the Rehmat ul il Aalameen(Medina) end up flying away under the slightest gusts of wind(problems)..

Always felt I had greater affinity towards Madinah al Munawarah and living there, until I found what the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) himself favored:

Abdullah Az-Zuhri reported: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was standing near Mecca and saying, “By Allah, verily, you are the best and most beloved land to Allah and had I not been driven away from you I would not have left you.”

Narated By 'Abdullah bin Hisham : We were with the Prophet and he was holding the hand of 'Umar bin Al-Khattab. 'Umar said to Him, "O Allah's Apostle! You are dearer to me than everything except my own self." The Prophet said, "No, by Him in Whose Hand my soul is, (you will not have complete faith) till I am dearer to you than your own self." Then 'Umar said to him, "However, now, by Allah, you are dearer to me than my own self." The Prophet said, "Now, O 'Umar, (now you are a believer)."

Makkah, Madinah, and the city of Bait-al-Maqdas are all dear to us and let us pray we are not like those who spilled blood in these cities and did not spare even the Companions of Issa and Muhammad (peace be upon them). After the return of Issa to our world,

“They (Muslims) will leave Madinah while in its prime. Only wild beasts and birds will roam it. The last persons to be gathered (for the beginning of the Last Day) will be two shepherds from (the tribe) of Muzainah heading towards Madinah. They will be herding their sheep, and (when they reach it) they will find it deserted. When they reach Thaniyyat Al-Wadaa’ they will collapse on their foreheads (because the Hour will have started then).” [Ahmad, Al-Bukhari and Muslim, As-Silsilah As-Sahihah, vol. 2, no. 683]

How can historians differ? It is on the historical record. In fact, the name of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) was well-known, and well-researched, not to mention the rivalry between the lineage of Prophet Ishmail and Prophet Isaac (PBUTA).
He meant MAHA HINDU HISTORIANS..:sarcastic:

So, am I the only one that noticed the hanging teapots/lantern thingamajigs? Anybody know about them?

the Arabic word is Ummi , which means A Person who has been Taught by The Almighty Himself and not by any human being
